Harper magazine dude taking on economist from Chamber of Commerce
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 12:15 PM by La_Serpiente
Kind of fun...on CSpan. About free trade.

Saying that Chamber of Commerce represents only the views of WalMart.

Now the AFL-CIO woman is taking on the Chamber of Commerce.

2. I don't have Cable,
I do think that chambers of commerce mainly support huge businesses like wallmart and don't look at issues like quality of life or human dignity.

3. I don't know what your chamber of commerce is like but...
ours is considered the third party. It is a compilation of Republicans and Democratic business people who prostitute their ideals for the almighty dollar.

4. I've seen parts of it while walking in and out of the room
The "Harper's Dude" is doing a great job and not back to look at either. Was the chamber guy the one who looked like a pissed off puffer fish? I don't think that he was the one in the dark suit, pinkish shirt, and multi-colored tie.

6. That's who I thought it was
After "Harper's Dude" spoke about wages in other countries, NAFTA, and areas contributing to our race to the bottom the chamber guy looked as though he was visibly puffing up larger and larger. The guy in the pinkish shirt was talking about the loss of manufacturing jobs and that this "recovery" is really jobless and no "recovery" at all - I thought the chamber guy was going to blow up.
