This was posted on the Clark blog, but it is DU worthy.
I am from Arizona and have the pleasure of having two republican senators. During the $87,000,000,000 Iraq debate, I wrote to my two senators and basically said, now that we are there, you must give the troops everything they need to do there job. I did question why our troops were sent over there without armor plating on their Humvees and why they didn't have the best flack jackets before they went.
Senator McCain never responded and Senator Kyl sent me a letter indicating that $87,000,000,000 was only a fraction of the total U.S. fiscal budget and it was not a problem and not to worry because when the Bush tax cuts kicked in the goverment would be overwhelmed with revenue.
