Whack-a-Pol (choose your presidential candidate) from Slate
This year's presidential debates have clarified several issues on which the candidates are almost evenly divided. The alignments vary. By choosing several issues and eliminating candidates who disagree with you, it's now possible to identify your candidate in a few simple steps.

My process of elimination left me with Dean.
I played with it a bit and found that Holy Joe and GW are virtually the same on everything.

You try see how it comes out for you.
Try to do it without looking at who you are eliminating, so you can see how it thinks you should vote.
(This is Fun!!!)

3. DAMMIT!
I guess I don't have to bother coloring this cartoon, then.

My idea was came after seeing the weasels on the marathon fillibuster debacle, but it's the same thing otherwise (with less pubs to whack, so I guess the slate one IS better).

Oh well. Back to the drawing board, as they say.

5. Oh my goodness
I selected all of the ones (just to see) that President Bush's posistions are and Joe Liberman ended up agreeing with EVERY SINGLE ONE of Bush's policies. The only thing that the two differed on was the military experience and supporting Republicans for high office.

7. It's wrong
It says that Dean didnt support a resolution allowing Bush to use force in iraq, yet he supported biden-lugar and even said:

"as I've said about eight times today," he says, annoyed -- that Saddam must be disarmed, but with a multilateral force under the auspices of the United Nations. If the U.N. in the end chooses not to enforce its own resolutions, then the U.S. should give Saddam 30 to 60 days to disarm, and if he doesn't, unilateral action is a regrettable, but unavoidable, choice.

8. First time through.. Kucinich.
hmmm.. not a surprise.

You should leave the ones that have no bearing on your choice N/A.

You do NOT have to answer Y or N on each question.

Did it again and ended up with Kucinich.

12. Moseley-Braun wins! What a stunner!
Dean was the next-to-last one standing, so I guess I'll switch back over to him after Carol drops out...

14. Yikes ... Dean did NOT make the cut
here were my main issues:

1. Supported $87 billion request for postwar Iraq = NO
2. Supported making a state honor another's gay marriages = YES
3. Would implement or consider net cut in defense budget = YES

The third question knocked out Dean ... what kind of stupid position has Dean taken on this issue? He can't seriously believe that we need more defense spending ... Dean, dude, wake up ... the cold war is over ... it's wayyyyyy over ... let's stop building these star war megasystems and pork-project bombers and let's build a smaller, more responsive, personnel-based military ...

I can't believe Dean doesn't believe the military budget isn't grossly inflated ... quick, Deanies, tell me why he makes sense on this issue ... i'm listening ...

btw, my surviving candidates were: braun, clark, kerry, kucinich and sharpton ...
