Are any DU'ers in the know about the amount of worldwide terrorism?
Has the amount of worldwide terrorism increased since the war on terrorism has been started? How about the amount of worldwide terrorism during Clinton's last 4 yearts and Bush's first 3 years?
It would be interesting to see a chronological timeline for terrorist events over the past 7 years along with the death -fatility rate figures to actually get some prespictive on the progress of the war Bush has waged on terrorism is coming along.
I do not have any statistics on this issue, but through all the news reports during bush's term,it seems that terrorism is much worse under his adminstration than it was under Clinton.

1. A good place to find out
about terrorism against refugees is Refugees International. They keep tabs on refugee situations around the world, and there are a lot more of them than many realize. Check them out at

www.refugeesinternational.org

(A good group that wrote many powerful op eds AGAINST going into Iraq, btw)

6. I think the implication
is that since President Bush started fighting the war on Terror we are all safer and there haven't been as many Americans deing. I don't know if that is the original posters intention, but that's one take on it.

Personally I usually go on the innocent until proven guilty theory.

3. Tough One Due To Meaning
Well, if you can find any two researchers who will agree on what constitutes "terrorism," you can probably find an answer.

My experience is that there is so little consensus on the definition of the word that accurate numbers are almost impossible to come by from any reputable source.

Significant Terrorist Incidents, 1961-2001: A Chronology

Political violence directed at Americans overseas has been going on for a lot longer and in a lot more places than most of us realize.

7. It depends on your definition of "Terrorism"
If you include state terrorism, it's increased.
