Hispanics kept from voting - Calif

http://www.sacbee.com/state_wire/story/7776181p-8715041c.html

Monterey County poll workers prevented some Hispanics from voting in recent elections, county elections chief Tony Anchundo said Wednesday.

At a union-sponsored voter forum in Salinas, Anchundo accepted responsibility for poll worker actions and promised to take steps to prevent future problems.

An eight-member panel listened to Hispanic voters talk about their experiences at the polls. Voters said they were denied provisional ballots and sent to the wrong polling place. They complained about delays caused by long lines and a shortage of ballot envelopes.

Others said they witnessed voter intimidation by men in black suits who said they were members of the county's Republican Party.

Voters mainly complained about the Oct. 7 recall election. One person said some Castroville voters didn't receive ballots for the Nov. 4 elections, which were conducted by mail.

sounds like Fl. I still believe Californians did NOT elect Arnold.

and posters at DU keep saying to do absentee ballots cause they can't be rigged. WRONG. check out Fl. The bushgang loves absentee ballots in Fl. have loved them for years.

1. This occurred all over the state
and not just to Latinos. Unfortunately, it has received almost zero publicity. Just another reason to assign poll watchers at as many precincts as possible.

2. "Arnold, acting as if it's in the bag."
This article, by Joe Matthews and Greg Jones, appeared in the LA Times before the election on October 2, 2003. Unfortunately, it has been archived and the Times wants money, so I'll have to summarize it the best I can.

<snip>
SACRAMENTO — All but declaring himself California's next governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday triumphantly announced a 10-step plan for his first 100 days in office and declared that if legislators don't follow his lead, he'll seek approval for his proposals through the initiative process.

"I am not here today to talk about campaigning," Schwarzenegger, hoarse from the campaign, told an audience of several hundred local Republicans at Sacramento's Memorial Auditorium. "I'm here today to talk about governing."

Schwarzenegger's speech lasted just 12 minutes and his plan ran to just one page of paper, but it was significant for its tone and purpose — compiling the disparate proposals of his campaign into one speech and presenting it under the mantle of a presumed governor-elect.<snip>

The article goes on about Sacramento insiders including Governor Gray Davis being taken aback with what amounted to him 'measuring the drapes before the office was his'.

This election has not rung true to me from the beginning because of these discrepancies. Yet, I don't see anyone clamoring for a recount.

3. I have no doubt thathis Bushevik Masters assured him it was in the bag
Hundreds of thousands of votes "went astray", Diebold counties showed large numbers of votes for little-known candidates, in many cases tallying half their votes from Diebold machines in counties where no one knew who the hell they were.

Imperial Goiuvernor Ahnold may have won legitimately, but we'll never know.

I believe his "lanslide" (and the way Corporate TV Pravda called the "election" literally at the moment the polls closed) was a Bushevik fabrication.
