Why is Donna Brazil still around? |
|
I see the media still calling her up for interviews. I blame that horrible campaign run by Al Gore in 2000 squarely on her! If Gore hired Carvel, he would have won the selection by a landslide. Blame goes to her and Gore! Who's idea was it to distance Big Dawg from the campaign?

There's convincing argument that he won Tennessee (and of course, Florida).

They are pals.
I saw her on K Street this week; she confuses me now more than ever.

10. Sleeping with the enemy, is she? Or at least breaking bread with him? |
|
The last campaign was Gore's to lose, coming off a booming economy, peace around the world and adversaries at least talking to each other, our red ink paid down, and Gore being the faithful husband. While I don't know many details, seems to me she just let the whole ball of wax slip through her fingers. Maybe she thought they ought to just keep being nice guys and ignoring the assholes - who seized the microphones and the moment like pitbulls and where was her response? Was there ANY response? Any rapid response team to mudslinging like Carville engineered for Clinton? Or did she just wanna play nice-nice? There was no killer instinct, no nothing. She was a HUGE disappointment.
I was not impressed with her then, and I'm still not impressed with her. If she'd played it like a real player, Gore would have had such a large margin of victory that there would have been no way to steal it.
They came to play like attack dogs. She responded with poodles. That she has ANY credibility at all is just astounding to me. WHAT a disappointment. Where the hell did she come from, anyway, that she should have been the f-ing CAMPAIGN MANAGER? Weren't there more people in the pool of talent that would have been tougher players? JEEZ!
Sorry, but I'm just totally depressed today. That FAUX news report and all, plus more helicopters down, JEEZ! WHEN WILL IT END??????

6. Gore did win, but he would have won by a landslide |
|
if Clinton had been more involved. Gore did some damage to himself in some of the debates. He has improved so much since that time, but be fair and think back to the actual debates. Gore was an intellectual giant compared to Bush, but in the southern states that came across as arrogance and unfortunately that's what hurt him in even his own state. It's one of the reasons Dems have had problems winning in Southern states period.

8. She's around and allowed on TV |
|
because the GOP and their corporate cronies like her. She will not say anything too damaging to them nor will she wholeheartedly stand up and support Dems. She is not a threat to the establishment.
If she was strong and damaging, they would let her on the air. To me, she lacks integrity and has sold out. She's an African-American woman so she makes a good lapdog and if you dare to criticize, you're a racist or you don't support woman.

11. Plenty more blame to go around |
|
Brazille definitely ran an awful campaign, but there were other factors in making the gap narrow enough to let Bush get by with a little cheating. The DLC had a lot to do with it, the DNC (particularly campaign consultants like Michael Whooley) had a lot to do with it, and a republican like Lieberman on the ticket sure didn't help things much.

I've never seen her make a strong and proactive or strategic statement about anything. She mostly just smiles.
