to add the photo below.

Louisianians, we are all pulling for you, especially we Mississippians who will be under the thumb of Haley Barbour beginning in 2004.

One question. If Blanco OR Jindal win, would you guys like to trade? We send Haley and Tuck to you for your one Blanco (or Jindal). It's a good trade--you get two for one!

Or would you guys consider annexing SW Mississippi? Where I live is only 15 miles from the state line, anyway! LOL.

Ok, SERIOUSLY, here is the link to the La. Sec of State's office which will have live results on the election.

http://www.sec.state.la.us:8090/cgibin/?rqstyp=elcms2&rqsdta=111503

Right now, Blanco leads with 56% of the vote, with 324 of about 4000 precincts reporting. Looking good for Blanco!

On edit: I thought that was what the 324 was, but there is a different figure for jindal--so I assume that is the actual number of votes.

3. I am not sure...maybe a New Orleanian will respond?
I know that there are different communities around NO that are highly segregated. West Bank, North Shore, etc. Someone from that area can tell you more.

Not sure about Baton Rouge either. Sorry I can't help.

WBRZ (Baton Rouge) says its rural parishes reporting. Of course some of those could be Acadiana. But now reoporting, as typing, that many of these are N. LA.

Wow. Could be mixed blessing.

but again where are these precincts? We shouldn't be setting ourselves up for a huge dissapointment if these early precincts are dem strongholds.

80. Who knows, though
Edited on Sat Nov-15-03 09:40 PM by ignatiusr
We have no way of knowing what precincts have reported and what haven't. The vast majority haven't been counted; those that have could just happen to be from a heavily Democratic area.

Fingers still crossed, though.

77. Where are these votes coming from?
Are thy from swing parishes? Dem parishes? Repu. parishes? I remember the Landrieu race last year, when Terrell was ahead up until 50% of the precinct reports.

Enlighten me LA DUers.

90. I explained before...and I will do so again.
The gender gap is the decisive factor in this race. These votes for Blanco are coming from married people who lie about who they vote for, especially when the person they love most votes differently!

And the pollsters are unlikely to get an accurate answers under these circumstances!
