4. That speech was great
and it was given with a lot of humility and less
ego than some of the others up there tonight.

5. Seeing Howard Dean dancing with CMB at the end was a hoot
"We are family
I've got all my sisters with me" woohoo shake it baby

CMB's talk was refreshing -- it's too rare that I hear a black woman's perspective. I've got a feeling CMB will drop out of the race pretty soon, tho, for better or for worse.

Mr. Dean's speech was also quite good. ;-)

6. She'll Be Around
Even if/when she drops out, Ambassador Braun has made a very good impression on a lot of people with her common sense and her eloquence. The Dems need someone like her in a position to get in front of people and speak for the party.

12. In the Dean Administration
CMB is an awesome lady. By rights she has her pick of several cabinet positions in a Dean Administration (or Clark Admin).

10. Does anyone else think Kerry
really blew it tonight? I was shocked and dismayed at his rambling and disjointed presentation.

I think he really shot himself in the foot and I'd like to hear from DU's that I misinterpreted what I heard.

And I really liked Dean and Carol dancing. If he gets the nod I hope he appoints her Ambassador to the Court of St. James.

15. Yeah
I thought Kerry did a poor job. Indicative of his campaign as a whole to date, perhaps. Too bad too, as a few months ago I thought he was our strongest candidate. Now I'm thinking he should just cut and run.

27. She can never run and win elected office again.
Study 1998, she blew one of my states senate seat to the repukes and Ill never forgive her for it.

Braun needs to be marginalized out of this process and soon.

She can do nothing but damage a candidate.

Saying such a thing really begs the question about what your problem is with Carol Mosely-Braun.

Edited on Sun Nov-16-03 03:16 AM by tritsofme
in 1992 I believe, I put a lot of time and money behind Braun, only to see an incredibly disappointing term and see her loose the seat to a repuke in 98.

For me, the sooner her face is off the tv, the least damage is done.

30. I don't see where she's done ANY damage
To the contrary, she comports herself quite well. She's thoughtful, well-spoken, and probably never considered herself an investment for you. She did just fine as a Senator, and as an ambassador. And now, she's bringing real value to the Democratic Party as a whole.

You won't have to worry about her getting the nomination, though. Have you noticed that no one (other than you) attacks CMB? This is because they don't need to--she's too far behind. So relax. But please don't try to indict her in the court of public opinion when she's done nothing to deserve this treatment.

32. She can play around in the nomination
process, but this election is far too important for someone like her to mess it up.

The state that she lost to a repuke, right now has almost every statewide elected office in the Dem column, 2 years after she lost it went overwhelmingly to Gore, and now six years later we're finally going to get the seat back.

I dont want any of our major candidates to have any association with her. The mere prospect of loosing Illinois' 22 electoral votes could be a travesty in what will undoubtably be a very tight election.

I thought they were talking about another time they had met when it was hot and the guy said, "that was too fucking hot!" Then laughed and patted Dean on the shoulder before posing for a picture. Maybe it was a different guy.

edit: hot isn't the word that made me laugh though :7

they were talking about a big storm, and Dean mentioned something about lightning, and that's when the guy said F**ing something... I didn't get that part.

Anyway, it was amusing, and Dean didn't bat any eye.
