JINDAL CONCESSION ON CSPAN |
|
For a Republican, he's not so bad. But we've got to be as united as possible until we've got the White House and at least one House of Congrses comes our way. (Which is one reason I furiously disagree with the people cheering the Greens on in SanFran. NOT NOW!!!)
Anyway, watch.

Certainly a force we'll be dealing with in the future. One of the very smart GOPers (I'm thinking Frist as a counterpart.)

11. yeah, they don't come across as assholes |
|
guys like bill frist, jindal, they are very conservative, but they are also smart enough to not be so open about it when they talk. they don't come across as asses like santorum, newt gingrich, trent lott, etc. and they don't come across as morons like bush. i would put tom mcclintock in the bill frist, jindal category also. these guys are good cover for the right wing agenda that people like tom delay want to pass.

I quite agree. Ideology (and greed) can turn intelligence into disaster quite easily.
Frist especially: he reminds of of a cynical, scheming Roman senator

20. God.........I never thought about it.......but...... |
|
what self-respecting republican politician would willingly JOIN the democratic party? I mean.....we are kind of losers at this point. At the state and national level, we seem to have more allegiance to the GOP agenda than really fighting for our party's agenda. Which makes us really a bunch of nobody's.
IF he turned to our party? Yeah......the day after he decides suicide is not the best option maybe.

But if there is a Dem victory in 2004, or when demographics start kicking our way in a serious way in 2008-2010--perhaps he'll have a change of heart

No victory speech for Blanco due to technical difficulties? The speech won't be aired until 6:00 in the morning. This is ridiculous!

12. they did this to mary landrieu also |
|
when mary landrieu won, they played the concession speech live from her opponent. but they didn't cover mary landrieu live. they showed a tape of it later. it was very disgusting. and to have it happen again, in the same state makes you wonder.

I would expect to see him in Washington soon. Bush has always been on the lookout for minority Republicans to bring along. It's something he's always been good at.

24. read this somewhere, but find almost no mention of it on Google |
|
is this guy delusional, or what? http://www.danconley.com/archives/000026.htmOn the Political Wire website today there is a brief about Louisiana gubernatorial candidate Bobby Jindal's December 1994 article in the New Oxford Review about his personal experience with a demonic possession.
I've read the article, but it is not in a format that I can post on the web. In it, Jindal details his relationship with a woman he knew when he was in his early 20s and exposes a very painful experience she went through that, depending on your point of view, was either a deep psychological trauma with religious overtones or a full-out possession by Satan.http://www.dailykos.com/images/jindal.pdf

28. Or maybe it's a sop to the evangelicals? |
|
I'm pretty sure Jindal's conversion to Catholicism was a pragmatic political move, assuming that it would be difficult for a Hindu to win election in the south. Such an article could be seen as reinforcing his adoption of christianity.
