* to bribe Americans $2,500 in tax cuts to vote for him? |
|
That's what my wife told me tonight.. I haven't been on DU since last night, so I am not sure what I'm hearing from her - I told her that the Dems will not allow any more tax cuts.
Can anyone indulge me - I checked LBN, but I must have missed something.

that he is going to put forth a new tax cut next year.
We Democrats have to frame it in a way that Tax Cuts would be detrimental to this nation. I hope the DNC is already planning for this. If not, it would truly show that they are a bunch of morons. Seriously.

that the tax cuts that were already passed will be handed out very soon. $2500 from Bushco. - $2000 to Bushco = 500 for taxpayer 200 mil for Bushco and you know the rest

3. It's the tax cuts already passed |
|
Most people will get a refund next year which will boost consumer spending leading to the election. I think people are seriously misunderestimating this administration. Pass a tax cut and hold the money until a few months before the election is pure evil genious.

There will be so many out of work by then that every dime refunded will go to basics like food and rent.
It seems like genius. Examined more closely, it never is.
Bush gives with one hand but robs you blind with the other. People ARE beginning to notice.

5. Getting money back does help Bush, but take this town |
|
Some have got money back but their town tax has gone up so all are paying more in the town. Also paying more in gas and will there is the young men dead every day now. Who knows how people will act. Putting country into debt is stating to hurt also.

Most folks see the income tax refund check in one lump sum and are impressed. But, they don't notice that since the fed cut taxes, many states and counties/towns have had to raise taxes and/or cut services. The raised taxes take a little extra out of each paycheck, or lead to necessary things costing a bit more (i.e., a raised sales tax or gas tax or a higher toll on the highway to work...)
It is evil, diabolical genius.

Yep...I saw several reports...one in a bank email (I will try to find and post it later) that mentions WhittleAss planning another round of tax cuts next year. One article mentioned the $2500 figure atop of the existing bribes for those who pay in the full top dollar figure.
Of course if you dare deduct for things like a house or don't pay enough you're not gonna get anywhere near that amount. Plus there's gonna be a lot more hidden cuts in capital gains (mine are dropping big time next year) and death taxes. This regime is chipping away at the tax system, shifting the burden on the middle class...who will pay for generations to come.
I'm sure there's a plan in BushColand, but it's not going to come out until the State Of The Union...and will be either a heavy hammer in the re-selection or a diversion from the continued blood-letting for oil...or a combination of both.
This regime is feckless in expanding and enhancing their own wealth and power. The GOOP knows that the words "tax cut" or "less tax" play well with their base even if many aren't getting anything from these bribes...also diverts from the growing defecits that will only continue to balloon under this corrupt regime.
But who cares? It's not affecting people enough to make them mad or even to question. Thus the pillage will go on.

8. Shameful behavior, that some Americans can be bought for so little. |
|
And shameful that the Repigs think they can do it. My husband also said it's a done deal. Great. More money I can send Wesley Clark or the nominee.

9. Bush charges about $2000 this year for that $600 check. |
|
$587 billion for 291 million Americans means $2017 was charged on every American's PERCAPITA credit card, young and old, working or not, everyone.
And, since it takes having a child for the $600 check, that's AT LEAST charging $4,000 in order to get a $600 check, more for families with two parents or more kids.

10. Hey, why not, it's YOUR money |

This is probably going to backfire if people really pay attention to their taxes and think. Unfortunately thinking appears to be dead in America.

12. Most people will get bigger refunds |
|
in April. That's what the news story was about yesterday that she may be referring to.
Since most peple didn't change their withholding enough to reflect the lower tax rates, they will get more back in April.
There was a new 10 % income tax bracket that was carved out of the 15 % bracket. That will hit everyone that pays any income tax at all.
Also, the 28 % tax rate was cut to 25 % and the 31 % rate was cut to 28 %.
That's in addition to the child tax credits.
