1. I hadn't known anything about him until recently,
when he introduced Wesley Clark at the New American Strategies for Security and Peace Conference at the Center for American Progress in October. Since hearing him, I've asked a few people about him, and I guess he's quite amazing. I had planned to look into reading more about him once I'm done with Clark's book.

The video of that conference can be downloaded here:
http://www.newamericanstrategies.org/downloads/

There's an amazing lineup of speeches that I haven't even begun to listen to yet!!!!! I've only listened to Sorensen and Clark so far.

3. Isn't he from your area?
Thought he grew up in WI. Family was strictly religious, and he read the bible a lot as a kid. He was credited with adding a biblical lilt to JFK's rhetoric. Said that was one of the keys to eloquence.

2. For many years he practiced corporate law in NYC
I spoke to him about 15 years ago trying to get him to attend a local Dem function.

He's surely retired now, and is probably approaching 80. Started with JFK in 1947.

Good man!
