Blair has secret plan for Bush to address Parliment on Wed.
http://www.news.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=1266582003

Bush’s controversial trip has already threatened to inflict political damage on the Prime Minister, but it emerged last night that Blair has laid extraordinary secret plans to defy intense political criticism and heightened security fears by allowing Bush to speak in Parliament during his visit. Downing Street has warned senior MPs in charge of scheduling daily business in the House of Commons to prepare to “clear the decks” in preparation for a presidential visit on Wednesday.

Ringleaders of the anti-war movement among British MPs last night predicted a rough ride for the President if his visit was allowed to go ahead.

George Galloway, the rebel Glasgow MP expelled from the Labour Party over his outspoken criticism of Blair, Bush and the war in Iraq, said: “I’d be very surprised if he dared to come to Parliament because even the most craven Blairites couldn’t possibly be seen as an audience and a grandstand for the world’s worst, most despised and ridiculed leader.”

Blair conceded in an interview last night that some opponents of US policy in Iraq “are rubbing their hands at the scope for embarrassing him … but I believe passionately there could not be a better moment for him to come to the UK than now. Despite the doubters, I am convinced the visit of President Bush this week is in the best interests of this country and the world”.

Tony really is off his rocker. He reminds me of Baldrick from the Black Adder, yes I have a plan, a cunning plan. Yeah right Tony. I hope C-SPAN or someone broadcasts this one live. I can't wait, this will be the best British Comedy that I've seen in a long time. So fire up your VCRs the world's worst, most despised and ridiculed leader will be in the well getting a new asshole.

1. Please clarify
You wrote, "The world's worst, most despised and ridiculed leader will be in the well getting a new asshole."

I thought Dick Cheney was going to be his running mate again. Has he chosen a new partner?

3. The quote is from George Galloway
the rebel Glasgow MP expelled from the Labour Party, at least the first part. I suppose he is entitled to his opinion. Besides Cheney isn't going to England this week. He'll be hiding in an undisclosed fund raiser somewhere.

7. Thank you for the link
So far they don't have this event posted on their schedule for Wednesday. I guess Tony is trying to keep it a secret from everybody. This will be the first time in years that W will be speaking before an audience that is not hand picked and prescreened. Can't wait.

I hope the light shining off all those moons will expose W for the sniveling, slimy, arrogant, ignoramus that he really is.

What if he meltsdown in the well? Wouldn't that be a hoot. Wish I could be there with a bucket of water and a pair of ruby slippers.

12. I agree with you
I'll be very surprised - no, shocked - if Whistle Ass sets foot in front of Parliament. No scripted questions there for the dear boy.

Well I think he should address the Parliament. Tony should definitely go ahead with his "secret" plans to turn this baby around.

My prediction is that Bush will be interrupted constantly, like he was in Australia while addressing the parliament. It would give Bush a dose of reality. He'll probably say something like "ain't democracy sweet?" as he gets interrupted for the 5th time.

I'm expecting a speech. Go Tony.

OMG, Rad that is TOO funny. Cattle Prods!!!

15. Perhaps he's offering up Bush to be the object of scorn, rather than him-
self, and he's hoping that the British public perceives the situation as him putting Bush in the situation.

If you read his statements, and avoid the knee-jerk Blair is evil response, they actually read like Blair is welcoming protests. And he knows Bush is going to be attacked in Parliament.

What he might be doing is giving the Democrats running for president a big hand-wrapped package.

Blair doesn't have to worry about his own election. But he really has to hope that a Democrat gets elected in 2004, or he's going to have the entire might of the US government working to help a Tory victory in 2006.
