Bernard Goldberg on Russert last night.... |
|
I don't know how old this was but this guy was infuriating, mostly because he was so obviously continuing his jump on the right wing "liberal media" echo chamber bandwagon. But what made it worse was now he was talking about higher education being overly liberal as well.
What made it more pathetic was that when he would cite examples they would be these vague stories with no specifics
"I was at a college who I will spare the embarrasement of naming and one of their journalism students told me she wanted to throw my book against a wall when she was done with it....."
"Well a few journalism schools are using my book but I suspect it's to teach them what NOt to do or who the enemy is....."
It went on like this the entire time. I mean if someone wants to make a case then fine. Do so and I can agree or disagree. But this was an even worse example than your Coulters or your Limbaughs who at least attempt to make up specifics even if they are completely false. This guy didn't even bother to provide any specifics or examples because he knew the audience would lap it up.

is just looking for status. Al Franken shut him down on the Donahue show and made him eat his own words. I want to see what Spinsanity says about Goldberg's book. For his first book, he got most of his information from the Media Research Center, a extremely right wing organization.

2. Russert's show is "unbalanced" |
|
When a David Corn or Eric Alterman appears on Lipstick Timmy's program, there is always a right wing whore present for "balance."
Last night, Bernie Goldberg appeared ALONE.
I'd love to hear an explanation.

3. Well to be fair he did have Begala and Carville on... |
|
Without any right wing balance. There is enough to criticize him over, but I've seen enough to counter that particular charge so I won't personally level it against him.

What is weird is this book came out long ago and he did the circut once already. Contained in this is the rather obvious lesson that the usual suspects work togther endlessly to keep on message, at the behest of the VRWC.
"go out and tell about the nasty liberal media again Bernie they say" and just like that he get booked all over cable.
So it goes

10. Actually, he's pushing screed #2 |
|
I saw it at Costco, next to Bill O'Really?'s "Living with Herpes". Can't remember the name, but I put Mike Moore'sand Al Franken's books on top of them. I also turned Barb (hag) Bush's toilet paper upside down.

5. GOLDDIGGER Is *So* Out of It |
|
During his original book tour he was interviewed by phone by my local radio wingnut talkshow host. GOLDDIGGER talks of ALL Libs as being robots, his limited mind has settled on a meme that makes moohlah for him (Lib-ism is ingrained through osmosis unawares) and he can't see out of his own box. Most DUers would be able to overwhelm him intellectually.
As for his pouting that his book is either ignored or used as what-NOT-to-be in journalism schools--------he needn't worry: G.E.RUSSERT and Tweety and HANNITY et al. never have been "journalists" and our crack, investigative media have violated all standards of journalism in giving Shrub EVERYTHING HE COULD POSSIBLY WANT.

and so are the right wingers that think of him as their savior. The clown used to work for CBS, so when he writes a right wing hit piece (probably funded by Mellon-Scaife) all the right wingers in the country hail his "work" as proof of a liberal media bias. As Goldberg makes the rounds on FAUX, MSNBC, FAUX, CNN, FAUX, and FAUX and Friends, he helps perpetuate the lie that there is a liberal media bias. His right wing fans eat it up and use it as 'proof' that they are right. What a bunch of losers.

8. This is his SECOND book.. Also a single word title |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-16-03 11:01 AM by SoCalDem
Like Ann Coulter.. Single word titles.. I guess they DO know their target audiences.. Semi-literate folks who can't get past much more than one word :)
He's a washed up hack who had a run-in with Dan Rather ...ages ago.. Apparently Bernie thought that "no one liked him, or trusted him with the big stories...and Dan got all the good stories...waaaaah"..
If I recall, he threatened to quit, and they took him up on his offer...hahaha.. Now he's got sour grapes and decided to write those "tell-all" fairy tales that he calls books..
Again, like Coulter...no facts..no footnotes.. just a lot of off the top of his pointy little head ramblings..
And of course, the REAL insult is that Russert & C-span invite him on to "talk about his book" like he really had something to say..
C-span gave Coulter TWO HOURS on her book before the most recent one..
