1. because he'd be as unimportant as a Republican
as he currently is as a Democrat

he can get more mileage out of being a dissidenting voice in the Democratic Party than he could as a Repuke

sells more books

3. the More the Merrier
I guess it's all a numbers game... the more warm Dem bodies, the better...with the numbers so close he could make the difference between "chairman" and "ranking member," "Majority leader" and "Minority Leader"

5. He's retiring in 2004.
He's retiring in 2004, so he won't help the Democrats re-gain a majority in the Senate. I'd just as soon he'd swtich parties.

He's a tool for right-wing media to say: Listen to this Democrat say how terrible Democrats are.

8. I would like to see him kicked out of the caucus
in the Senate. He has endorsed the other party's candidate for president. This is cause to refuse him admittance to the caucus.

10. Zell Miller -- Elephant Running Around in a Donkey suit
I'm not saying we should make everybody toe to the party line -- that isn't what being an Democrat is all about -- but Miller is just an elephant running around in a donkey suit.**

**Kudos to Al Sharpton for this great quip from one of the debates.
