Gee - foxnews.com - NO sign of the earth-shaking Saddam-9*11 link memo
Not on the front page, anyway (I dared not dig).

Its just gone!

Big "news" for two days - finally, something that seemingly justified bush's continuing illegal and illegitimate bloodbath of an invasion, and two days later its gone.

mouthpiece for the bush regime? can there be any question about it now?

News reports that the Defense Department recently confirmed new information with respect to contacts between al-Qaida and Iraq in a letter to the Senate Intelligence Committee are inaccurate.

A letter was sent to the Senate Intelligence Committee on October 27, 2003 from Douglas J. Feith, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, in response to follow-up questions from his July 10 testimony. One of the questions posed by the committee asked the Department to provide the reports from the Intelligence Community to which he referred in his testimony before the Committee. These reports dealt with the relationship between Iraq and al-Qaida.

The letter to the committee included a classified annex containing a list and description of the requested reports, so that the Committee could obtain the reports from the relevant members of the Intelligence Community.

The items listed in the classified annex were either raw reports or products of the CIA, the NSA, or, in one case, the DIA. The provision of the classified annex to the Intelligence Committee was cleared by other agencies and done with the permission of the Intelligence Community. The selection of the documents was made by DOD to respond to the Committee’s question. The classified annex was not an analysis of the substantive issue of the relationship between Iraq and al Qaida, and it drew no conclusions.

Individuals who leak or purport to leak classified information are doing serious harm to national security; such activity is deplorable and may be illegal.

I assume a publicly accessable page on the DOD website is considered public domain and free to distribute - of, by, and for the people, and all...

2. I'm sure the fake memo already served its purpose...
...in the eyes of the Dark Lords of the Sith that run our "government". They fool their hard core true believers into thinking that the link was proven. They pull it and deny that they ever claimed a link to the more sane folks. Just like the "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Down the memory hole, as they like to say here. But the illusion continues unabated, with the occaisional tweak for maintenance.

These are truly bad people in charge of the world these days. Truly bad. Election 2004 is about life or death. All thinking, reasonable people in this country need to wake up and defeat this evil Bush/Corporate Empire, or fall victim to their ignorance and disconnect.

3. Hit and run
THrow it out there. Don't bother with the facts. If a few uninformed, easily manipulated boobs buy into it, that's all that matters.

Fact is, those morans are already on board. so it was just a waste of bandwidth.

4. You know what's reassuring?
They use to throw this kind of stuff around all the time and it would spread via internet, AM radio and FoxNews channel, but it doesn't seem to be working for them anymore. The fact that there's no toxic news plume, means that the tide is turning.

It's been ages since I've received any wingnet bullshit forwarded from my brain dead wingnut cousin in law. I thought she just didn't love me anymore. :-)
