I predict dead protesters in Europe during Bush's visit
Prolly told the SS to shoot on site at the slightest hit of protest against him.

What say you?

1. Just saw that the request
to give immunity for just such an incident was denied by UK.

The SS?

12. Yes - 'Shoot-to-kill' demand by US
Edited on Mon Nov-17-03 01:31 AM by BrotherBuzz
<snip>

Home Secretary David Blunkett has refused to grant diplomatic immunity to armed American special agents and snipers travelling to Britain as part of President Bush's entourage this week.

In the case of the accidental shooting of a protester, the Americans in Bush's protection squad will face justice in a British court as would any other visitor, the Home Office has confirmed.

The issue of immunity is one of a series of extraordinary US demands turned down by Ministers and Downing Street during preparations for the Bush visit.

2. I doubt it...
That would most likely be political suicide.... that is, beyond what this cabal has pulled already.

I predict a humiliating experience for Bush.

3. If an American SS
kills an Englishman on English soil....

That's why I've said this could get very ugly, very fast.

10. It wouldn't take a bunch
100,000 people in the streets, shooting, dead Brit....wouldn't take much.

Terrorists are not the potential problem.

An angry mob is.

May just seal Bush's fate.

5. Do you think anyone might try an assassination attempt?
It keeps crossing my mind for some reason or the other.

7. It would appear that
Dubya is concerned about that possibility. He and his crew are also worried about a terrorist attack while he is there.

15. Not really.
Cheney is not re-electable like Bush. Cheney looks too much like the old guy who used to yell at you to get off his lawn even to freepers.

14. Bush* is the master of lowered expectations...
Funny how some will now view his trip to london as a success if no British protesters are killed by the secret service.

I don't ever recall a state vist by our president being held up against that kind of standard.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and proclaim that I don't think the SS will kill anyone in london for the next 10 years!

16. Merely attempting to approach Bush would be suicidal...
but anything can happen with a mob of 100,000. I, too, think someone will be killed. And despite the security, it will be an extremely tempting target for terrorists. The possibilities are endless.

Ironically, it will probably be the closest George AWOL Bush has ever come to combat.

17. The concern about a terrorist attack is self-serving bullshit.
The moron can't even have the traditional parade because of the massive protests. His handlers want nice photo-ops for the campaign, and they won't get them if they have protesters in the frame. They'll have to settle for tea with the Queen and some smiling with Blaire. Indoor stuff.

All this terrorist boogeyman shit is just business as usual.

18. Yeah, they should stop saying things like that.
They get too many people excited about the prospect.
