I never really paid attention to the "Annual Gain/Loss" number on this New York Times graph that I keep citing. But I am now and it seems to me that their calculations for annual job gain/loss are wrong, unless they are refering to the most jobs gained/lost in one single year.

If, however, it is average jobs gained/lost per year over the period of their presidency:

Carter should have an average annual job gain of: +2.59
Reagan should have an average annual job gain of: +2.01
Clinton should have an average annual job gain of: +2.84

But here's the kicker:
Hoover should have an average annual job loss of: -1.93
Bush should have an average annual job loss of: -1.04 (using the -2.7 (million jobs) number from this early August article and divided by 2.6 years.)

2. Did you hear the cabinet person say..........
Something like in the last 25 years they had 20 million new jobs or some such thing? Even the news man was takeng back and said well that was not fair or something like that.It was a funny thing and I wondered if that was going to be a talking point? Most likely it is to the GOP people and just not said on TV. What is being sent in mail to the GOP money people? The govt has changed some ways they do figures. Must make Bush look good.

3. What also stands
is that with the exception of Warren Harding and John Kennedy (whose term was too brief to really count) the worst job improvement of a Democrat was better than the best job improvement of a Republican.

So why are Republicans cruising on the reputation that they're better for business and the country than Democrats? Why?

Maybe this is something else to be printed up and laminated on little cards and passed out to any and all Republicans who their party is better for the country.
