3. Tim Roemer on CSPAN now...

...talking about the commission and the issues involved.

- Says it's important to get the ENTIRE daily presidential brief. Says the commission needs to know HOW the 'president' was briefed.

- States that this is not a 'partisan witch hunt' and not out to blame Bush* or Clinton. Says they're going back to 1998 to look at briefings.

- My comment: strange that Clinton's name would even be brought up in the context of getting BUSH'S* briefings. This sounds like a rerun of the 'china spy' hearings where Clinton was blamed for nuclear secrets stolen in the 80s.

- UPDATE: says the commission hasn't seen ANY briefings yet and time is 'running out'.

4. Caller brings up 'Stewart' plane that was tracked...
...and intercepted. Talks about the lack of response on 9-11. Roemer says it was a 'good question' and that they have 'negotiated' with FAA for documents...but FAA didn't provide enough information to make a determination.

5. RWinger callers are blaming Clinton...
...and have nothing to say about Bush*...the person who was supposedly in charge at the time.

- This commission is in danger of indeed becoming a 'partisan witch hunt' if they spend so much time on the Clinton years and ignore what happened right before 9-11.

- I don't think Clinton had anything to hide...since they spent so much time and energy on the terrorism issue. But this issue might not be resolved until there's a truly INDEPENDENT commission made up of non-government 'civilians' to look into the matter.

6. He keeps stating that we need to get to the truth
but not for political reasons. I disagree because if Bush* knew before hand about 9/11 the people should know. He should be thrown out of office for dereliction of duty.

7. This is indeed a commission that has no intention of...
...getting to any kind of truth that would hurt Bush*. In fact...they serve at HIS pleasure.

- Sorry to say...but there aren't enough 'disinterested' parties on this commission to do the kind of job that needs to be done. It's the government investigating itself...again.

- The Democrats on this panel are outnumbered and outgunned.

8. Your're right with the exception of Max Cleland
but he doesn't have enough help.

9. We now know why Maneta (Transportation) still
has his job but I think we knew anyway. Maneta was in that right room when Cheney said "shoot the damned thing down" - this is in Bob Woodward's book. Also, Clinton offered to testify before this committee when it first started, bush sure didn't. Also, I get the impression they are talking about Clinton's daily briefings also and didn't bush clamp down on all of Clinton's material too (is that possible). Wouldn't it just be great to have Clinton's redaced (by bush) daily briefings also. What a crock
