How do you pull down C-SPAN Video?
The reason I am asking is I'd like to download some of their programs that they archive on their website but their links are all done via Javascript and you can't quite Save Target As to that. If you open a video stream you can't save that once it is opened in WinMedia or RealPlayer.... so what do you do to pull down a video file from the C-SPAN site?

Anyone that can help me out, it's quite appreciated.

I want the Iowa JJ. :)

1. Only way I've found...
On Mac OS X, in any case, is to use a 'screen scraping' program like SnapzPro to basically 're-record' the video as it's playing in real time. Quit everything you don't need to free up the CPU while you do this.

Kind of tedious, but that's the only way I'm aware of.

There is a tool somewhere available on Windows that does the same basic thing, but exclusively with RealVideo (like C-SPAN). I've read mixed reviews on how well it works, however.

2. After viewing source
I got this:
rtsp://video.c-span.org/project/c04/c04111503_dems.rm

I tried to pull down the stream from there but had no luck.

What's the name of that recording program?

4. Google for 'TINRA'
('This Is Not Real Anymore').

I'm hesitant to put a direct link, due to DMCA, etc, yada, yada, yada...

It's a windows command line program (uh...I guess that's DOS), but it looks like someone has built a GUI for it as well.

3. A suggestion
Try Streambox VCR. (although as a major disclaimer it's illegal in the US).

I've had problems using it with C-span, but I often use it to download online stuff from NPR, BBC, etc.
