Rush is incoherent. 13 year listener. He is gone. |
|
I write this at 1:20 p.m. EST. Posted on the other Rush thread, but have to say this here. Have fun, those of you who will say he has always been incoherent. Of course. But this is a new level of incoherence. I have never heard him this disjointed. Those of you who have dismissed him have done so at your (and our) peril; he HAS had a profoundly negative influence on our nation. What I am saying is, that this is a different Rush. His career is over, if this show is any indication. He is simply incoherent (and spare me, "always has been.") This is a person in trouble. And without Rush, GWB is in trouble. Which is a very good thing. But this is a fascinating thing, after all these years - to see the bastard go down this hard. It's been a long and painful fight to outlast him. I think we have done it.

They're cumming all over themselves over there, worshipping their god. What did you expect. "Welcome back, Rush!" "We love you!" "Kissy kissy kissy poo!"
This whole thing has only given his career a boost and if anybody thinks different, can you spell naive?

|
i can't get him in the shop because of electrical interference so i hung up an out to lunch sign and sat in the car and listened.
maybe a slight amount of stammer but after a month off and for the reason given, i don't see that as suprising.
i don't think we can bank on him self destructing further based on that hour.

he's trying to use the "Democrats WANT bad things to happen to our country so Bush will look bad" talking point to distract from the fact that Bush IS bad for our country and the obfuscation is not well done.
In the past he has done a far better job of talking-point delivery.

They have a witness AND she was wearing a wire. Get ready Rush, your new career will be learning to get along with Bubba, your new roomie.

the case. After all the information they had, they never even bothered to try to get a search warrant to search Limbaugh's residence. Since he was never found in actual possession of any narcotics, he will not be prosecuted.
The Palm Beach County Sheriffs Dept. should be thoroughly investigated for this. It is not possible that this was an accidental oversight. They had to have deliberately failed to execute the law in the Limbaugh case so Limbaugh would skate.

and they have worked themselves up into an emotional frenzy - they think Rush sounds different; but reflective and humble - he'll "probably start going to church soon; bless him". They're glad he didn't turn into a liberal and now that's he's not high anymore, will be more dangerous to us (liberals). I couldn't stay there long cause I felt like I was going to vomit. Here's a rather interesting take on Rush's stint in rehab and his counseling:
To: Stop Legal Plunder
Great post.
I'll go you one better. Psychiatry and psychology are Satan's greatest counterfiets for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Freud and Jung, et al didn't "create" psychiatry and psychology. They are empirical bodies of "knowledge", meaning they came from somewhere. And, that "somewhere" is demonstrably the occult. If you follow the trail of influence back from any of the "great thinkers" like Freud, you'll find (among other things) the alchemists and ancient occultist practices that teach Christ as a metaphor, not as God. The result is that, today, there is a pill for everything and repentance for nothing. Christ is the Perfect Psychiatrist and the "healing arts" are subordinate to Him, not the other way around.

but i'm also against psychiatry, not because of the reasons he states obviously. I just don't believe most drugs out there are safe, they are politically allowed to pass muster with the FDA, and the psychiatry industry is a slave to the drug industry. Drugs are seen as easy solutions to everyday problems.
However, there are exceptions such as schizophrenics, as oppossed to your garden-variety depressed individual whom I believe therapy is the best form of treatment, not drug industry "experiments".
Of course, if individuals want to be drug industry guinea pigs for their various society-and-media-induced mental disorders, that's their perogative. This is all just IMO of course, so nobody respond with "I NEED MY PROZAC" or anything, please.

Antidepressant drug trial data shows relatively little difference between real medication and placebo. In fact, subjects in the placebo arms will even report a resolution of their depression. They thought they were getting real medication but weren't. All in their minds?

with depression, their experiences may be very different from mine or yours. Some of us would not still be in this world without anti-depressants. To opine that depression is a minor psychiatric problem shows a lack of knowledge of depression.
"This is all just IMO of course, so nobody respond with "I NEED MY PROZAC" or anything, please. " What an offensive and ridiculous thing to say on a discussion board. It's very poor manners to throw out a opinion that strongly worded and then try to belittle/forbid those with contrasting opinions from posting.

|
known as psychiatric hospitalization for children(read Glassners "Culture of Fear" for a reality check), so i know a bit about being diagnosed "depressed" and how the medical, insurance, and drug industries work the system. So yes i have been diagnosed "clinically depressed" although i look back now and realize it doesn't mean squat. There's millions more out there that get taken advantage of on a daily basis with their own special diagnosis which makes them believe they are somehow different, that their lives are somehow worse than every else out there. A security blanket for the mind, if you will.
Of course i knew i'd receive love notes from the believers, who get ever so defensive when someone says they don't believe in their brand of fairy tales(of course, you can't say God doesn't exist without ruffling a few feathers as well. Such is life).
And yes it is my opinion, worth exactly what you pay for it.

All I'm hearing and reading is bullshit. Rush still thinks "12 steps" is some kind of dance they do at the Crawford Pig Ranch.
He's not being honest with his lsisteners, and thus not with himself. He's not in recovery, he's in denial. I'll bet he checked himself into the Noelle Bush Center and "sat in his shit" the whole month, then signed himself out. He could do that, he wasn't court-ordered into treatment or anything....
So, when he gets serious and STARTS his "recovery", you let us know, OK?

And he claimed that if someone called in and mentioned Oxycontin that, far from condemning those who use it, he <and here he uses the language of recovery but not the spirit of it> used to pretend he had never heard of it because he was an addict and addicts are secretive. But he claimed everyone who used his "send drug users to jail" quotes are wrong to label him a hypocrite because he really never said it very often. So he's hypocritical about his own hypocrisy. As was to be expected.

Thank you for this field report. I feel that I can trust your judgement, as you are a long-time listener and are objective enough to evaluate his level of performance.
Good heavens -- it sounds like you are describing a man in meltdown. Addiction is a powerful monster to be in the grip of, and it can destroy some people utterly. Some people just can't make it beyond rehabilitation, because the substance has fundamentally wrecked them and they never truly recover.
Prognosis: Rush will be back on drugs on the sly again in order to function on the air, or he will "retire" because the executives who manage him recognize that he is out of control.

You may be right. I also think he may become a liability to Karl Rove. And that may ultimately do him in more than his incoherence.

35. Incoherent? What's the problem? |
|
Jebus, freepers listen to Bush say 'nukular' and 'is our children learning', and they think Bush is God. Their greatest President (Reagan) was a marginally coherent pre-Alzheimer's patient.
Incoherence is a virtue for freepers.

I used to get pissed off listening to what he said. Today I had it on for awhile and he has totally jumped the shark. His blather isn't well directed, its tired, it doesn't have that heavy indignation that made him almost sound believable at times. He is, and I believe it as well as hope it, toast.

Even if he does go off the air, though, they'll just find some other right-wing fuckwad to take over his show permanently. Right-wing radio show hosts are a dime a dozen. It's easy to find people who are willing to whore themselves.

53. I've Never Listened to Rush Before |
|
It's as if he's making it all up as he goes along.
Does this guy have any idea how the world actually works? He certainly must not want his listeners to know! His fan base of Republican Consumatrons must be so politically naive -- it would be touching if wasn't so nauseating.
It's funny though, as I'm listening, Rush seems to be serving as the hypnotic mouthpiece for that little devil of contempt the propaganda machine installs in the malleable, uncritical, fallacy-adled brains of any "real" Americans who drink this brand of Kool-Aid. This faire is strictly for the numbed-out peasants and groundlings who have no other way to vent the rage of their ignorance and powerlessness.
What I take from his style is the intent to polarize America to the point of entirely gutting the value and power of any debate or discourse. It's a way of creating a defacto one party mainstream in America. Rush isn't just incoherent, he's beyond the pale of critical thinking. Does he ever refer to facts?
This is pure totalitarian demagoguery.

|
As a radio fan I've listened to Rush off and on since `93. After reading this thread I thought maybe you guys were saying all this just because you don't like Rush's politics, but I've tuned him in...yep, he sounds toasted. He interrupts himself with asides and tangents and mumbled jokes, making his point and flow of thought nearly impossible to follow. "Five weeks in here isn't going to make ME an idiot!" he just said.
The prediction that the GOP will slowly shed him is probably a good guess.

|
Listening for so long: That's how I saw what was coming in 1994, with the Gingrich (yecch) Revolution. That's how I saw what was coming in 2002, when the Dems laid down and said, "do me" to the GOP. And on, and on, and on. Knew he was as dangerous as any person in American by the early '90s, and was ridiculed by those who should have known better and were bulldozed as a result. And that's why I say now, he will hold the Freepers - but he is finished as anything else but a marginal figure. His time has come and gone. And thank God I am here to see it.

83. Can you be more specific? For those of us who won't listen to the git... |
|
Not that I don't believe you; I never thought he was incoherent, per se. His logic was full of holes, but he at least was able to make it *sound* like he knew what he was talking about: the tone of his voice, and the fact that his syntax at least made sense. Is that what's different now? Weird tangents about unrelated stuff? Sentences that aren't? What's his voice like? Are his callers saying anything?

Rush is incoherent now that he has been through rehab? Sounds like an addict to me!! I wonder how long he has been doing his show under the influence. Clearly he seemed to be a high-functioning addict and I think it will be damn funny if people are now turned off by his show.
BTW, I have lost hope that Rush will ever face charges. This is disgusting, and I am outraged, but if it came to betting money, I'd put it all on "he walks, continues bashing drug users". :puke:

without a single workd of deference to those who served in Vietnam. It's such arrogance to lump all boomers together. I think those who served in SE Asia had to grow up pretty darned fast. And there were plenty of them. Rush is insufferable and deserves to have his ass kicked in.

76. He just referred to "people like Howard Dean running around |

saying we have to get out of Iraq."
Dean has never said anything like that. It's Dean's opinion that we shouldn't have been there in the first place, but that we can't cut and run now.
He has mentioned Dean about three times, but he has not called him "Nikita Dean" as he did before.

It was said with the most menacing, threatening tone.

Oxycontin Eater
(Parody of Purple People Eater by Sheb Wooley)
Well I was in the car and I heard this guy He sounded all shook up and he told me why His voice was shaking on the E.I.B. Sound like an Oxycontin eater to me
It was a bug-eyed, tone deaf, flying Oxycontin eater Right Wing, syndicated, spinning Liberal people beater Right Wing, strung out, hypocrite prescription cheater Rush looked strange to me That guy?
Well his housekeeper picked up some drugs on the street And she brought the stuff home for the boss to eat I heard him say in a voice so gruff “I tried to quit twice but it was just too tough.”
He was a big mouth, blow hard, Right Wing propaganda reader Bad ear, sore back, 30 dose a day pill eater A three time, retread, frequent Betty Ford repeater Still looks high to me One more time?
I said Mr. Oxycontin guy the show sounds fine I see you beating up on Liberals using half your mind So what’s the real reason that you’re in Rehab? “I wanna get my job back and slam Mcnabb.”
Well bless his soul, no control, former jelly donut eater Dope stashing, Clinton bashing, flying Oxycontin eater ESPN SPORTS Fired color commentator What a site to see Pill popping’s evil
And after 30 short days well what do you know He pops back up on his radio show, He was preaching away to the ditto heads While his maid faced the music cause he sang to the Feds
I am not a victim in this. I… Criminals like this should be put in jail off the streets. They’re the worst kind of offenders. I blame Hillary Clinton. She’s the reason for all of this.
I should’ve stuck with tequila.
