Everybody should send their unused Vicodin and Oxycontin to poor old Rush. Most of us who have oral surgery have at least a few pills left when we decide that we no longer want to feel stoned all the time and decide to deal with the pain.

Someone brought this up over the weekend, and another poster mentioned the fact that sending that stuff throught he mails w/o a prescription is illegal.

Don't you think the Florida prosecutors are between a rock and a hard place. I mean if they don't prosecute Rush, then no case like this will ever make it to a jury or be met with a harsh penalty, assuming competent defense counsel. On the other hand, if they prosecute, don't you think the prosecutors' careers are pretty much over in terms of Republican party political ambition. (That may not be the case, but often time is). What do you think.

4. That is the essence of bravery and duty, isn't it? |
|
Doing something because it is the right thing to do when you know it will damage you.
I think they would have to worry for their lives as well. Rush's fans are not the nicest people in the world, after all.

and I certainly don't play one on TV, but case law isn't framed by what isn't prosecuted. If it were taken to court then it could become precedent based on case law standards. What isn't bound over to trial can't be used later for anything because you can't define guilt or innocence without trial. I am confident I will be corrected if mistaken...

7. True, something not prosecuted is not precedent |
|
...But a good lawyer can and will make the non-prosecution known to the trier of fact. And that's all that matters.

8. But can't a judge tell you, on opposing counsel objection |
|
to shut up - thereby negating the claim? Its pretty much heresay. I think it will be a non-issue if it doesn't go to court.

6. Prosecutors love a celebrity |
|
Look at the Martha Stewart trial, and that actrice that got caught shoplifting. Not to mention Kobi of course.
Nah, they won't let it slip. Then again....this is Florida.

9. All prosecutions are political, to a degree. |
|
And this one to a HUGE degree.
No, Rush will never face Justice until Karma (in the form of an overdose) gets him.
