I have a problem with all the posts about Rush!! |
|
I count over 110 posts about Rush on DU right now. I have to say that plays right into Rush's abd Bush's hands. You people hate Rush and rightfully so but still you waste time listening to him. Then you come to DU and get all revved up and carry on about what he said. That is exactly what he wants you to do. The time spent listening to him and getting all worked up is time not spent working to get rid of BUSH. Rush lovesd you people because you allow him to distract you from things or real importance.
I would think that if a portion of time spent yakking about Rush were spent in the pursuit of getting rid of Bush we might stand a chance to succeed.
My wife and I both lost our jobs of 15 and 19 years. The unemployment rate here is 7.6%. Compound that by both of us being over 55 and you get an idea of waht we are confronted with. But, we have saworn a holy oath to do at least one thing every damn day to get rid of Bush.
If you don't want 4 more years of Chimp boy we need to have less distraction and more activism!

Thanks for the prospective.
I think we can all agree that Rush is an idiot. But knowing that will not bring down Bush & Co. and get our country moving again.
Face it, Rush is going to be around till they pry the mic from his cold dead hands and there is very little we can do about it. However, there is a lot we can do to get rid of W.

3. I so agree. I am working on a contribution letter right now for the local |

county Dems. I am really hoping we are all using some of those good DU brain cells to promote and further the Democrats back into power.

6. Rush miseducates middle America. |
|
For instance right now he's telling America the economy is good and the "truth" on jobs. If you have discussions with middle Americans this where they get their "education".

I'm listening today (while I am working) because it is not an ordinary day for Rush.
I donate. (not just to DU)
I am doing many things to fight the BFEE.
My husband and I have helped hundreds of people earn a living in the past year.
I'm over 55 and feel I am old enough to decide for myself if I am wasting my time.
Um, and don't begrudge me a little schadenfreude. :-)

9. Most of us are quite capable... |
|
of multi-tasking. I can expend energy on silly Lounge threads and still do all I can to give Bush the boot in 2004. Most of us here have been doing just that since early 2001.
If listening to Rush keeps someone angy and motivated, so be it. If talking about Yaks and thongs keeps someone sane, so be it.
But don't assume that because we are talking about Rush or joking about yaks we are not taking care of business.

I have a problem with all these "I have a problem with X posts!" posts. Yesterday it was the Freepers, now it's Rush.
If you have a problem with the posts, don't click on the links. Pretty damn easy, no?
The time spent listening to him and getting all worked up is time not spent working to get rid of BUSH.
What does that even mean? I'm at work right now. I've got Rush on in the background and I'm doing some web surfing. What COULD I be doing instead? Remember now, I must remain at work, at my desk. Name ONE thing I *could* be doing that I can not do because I've got Rush Limbaugh on in the background. In all honesty it seems SPENDING TIME ON DU is the bigger obstacle. Why are you posting about people posting about Rush when you could be out doing something to get rid of Bush?
And round and round we go....

11. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem! |

I am on the web working also on my website for a small online business that I have. It is going to help make mortgage payment this month and next month. I also donate 10% of my sales to causes and organizations I support and some of those support getting rid of Bush. I made some sales so I have done something today to rid the world of Bush.
I would say if you have time to websurf at work, you could find something to help get rid of Bush like contacting the nominee of your choice and send donation request emails.

And who said I HAVEN'T done those things?
My point was to question this idea that we must EITHER work to get rid of Bush OR read freerepublic/listen to Rush once in a while. It's quite possible to do both. Some of us are gifted like that.

occassionally to listen to the other side of the story to be aware of what is going on but cannot see why the regular listening to these r/w shows would be productive. Is there a reason why one would listen on a regular basis?

It is at your own peril that you ignore the propagandist that has done more than anyone to put this bunch in power..

I can't mention the subject of my complaint because that is starting another thread about him?
Weird logic to me.
