Clark personally addresses Native Americans...
"Tribal sovereignty isn't just a soundbite," Clark said, "It's the law of the land. It's spelled out in the United States Constitution and numerous treaties, and it's high time that the Supreme Court and our state governments started acting like it."

Clark said that the federal government needs to consult with tribal governments as full partners..."

3. I am REALLY starting to like this guy.
Me, the one who mistrusts all things military. Go figure.

7. Strange, isn't it?
I'm having to eat some pretty big anti-military rants...one at a time til the're all choked down.

But, this guy is not just an ordinary general.

12. I hear what you are saying
I've spent 20+ years in the peace and justice movement. I've steadfastly avoided major party politics. But right now right here, we need somebody like Wesley Clark. Talk is cheap so I'm doing what I can for the campaign.

17. If someone had told me twenty years ago
that I would be backing a General for President, I would have laughed out loud. As would my husband, who wrote in Gene McCarthy for a couple of election cycles, and my Peace and Freedom Party best friends.

It's important not to stereotype people, even career military. Learn something new every day. Clark ain't your ordinary lifer. I really do believe that he is the one for where we are as a Nation, today. If all this crap hadn't happened, I'd be happily supporting Dean or Kucinich. But it did. And having someone who's been there, and seen the military from the inside, and is not only opposed to what we are doing but may actually be able to get us out of this mess, has my support.

Go figure, indeed.

22. Me too....
... along with my 12.5% Cherokee blood :)

Really, every time I hear Clark speak, I'm more impressed. I wouldn't say I'm "anti-military", but lets just say that I never thought of the military as a bastion of intellectualism.

Clark is changing that. The man is smart, composed, and I don't think his compassion and wisdom can be feigned.

Dean/Clark or Clark/Dean, give us either and we'll have the perfect storm that Bush* cannot weather!

6. A fantastic move by Clark.
Indians always vote Dem, and maintaining tribal sovereignity is a key issue. Whoever is running Clark's campaign just earned a raise.

Good for you, Gen. Clark. Hurrah!

10. All other candidates, jump on in; the water's fine.
They could also join Clark in calling for an independent investigation into possible criminal wrong-doing by bushco in deceiving the country into an unnecessary war.

;)

13. He's got the touch.
He has the heart and compassion. He has the determination of a 4 Star General and he has the right stuff on the issues. Wes is brilliant! He cannot lose. He is exactly what this party needs! Bonus: the republicans are scared shitless of him!

Oh, ya, I almost forgot! He's damn good looking! :loveya:

14. this should be a main talking point of Clark's when he campaigns in
Washington state. There is a large Native Am population in the state and they are tired of being taken for granted by the Dem party. The Tibal leaders made it clear in '00 that they won't give money to a candidate anymore, just because they are a Dem. They want something in return for their support.

24. I've been waiting all my life for a president to finally own up to this
issue and address it properly. Clinton did a few good things on this in office. Native Americans can apparently go &*C( themselves for all Bush could care. On second thought ~ let me ammend that ~ everyone but his cronies can go &*C( themselves for all Bush could care.
