Pressure On Schwarzenegger To Oppose Domestic Partner Law Repeal
http://www.365gay.com/newscontent/111703arnoldProp.htm

On the eve of Arnold Schwarzenegger's inauguration as governor of California, Democrats called on the Gray Davis Terminator to speak out against efforts to repeal the state's sweeping domestic partner legislation.

Schwarzenegger, who portrayed himself during the campaign to replace Davis as a moderate on gay issues, has not spoken directly about a move to repeal the law, which comes into effect in 2005.

There are two lawsuits (story) and two ballot measures (story) aimed at reversing the bill.

The most serious threat comes from state Senator Peter Knight (R-Palmdale) who is collecting names to have the repeal put on the next ballot in the form of a proposition

2. If it makes it to referendum
The history of California is that it will pass. There are a lot of Democrats here, but also, a lot of bigots. Prop 22(a defense of marriage type measure) passed here a few years back. All of the churches came out for prop 22, and will do the same for this type of referendum.
I live in California, have for many, many years, and it is my experience that when push comes to shove, the darkside takes over.

3. Arnold's new toy
Musclehead now has California as his new plaything. How long do you think it will take before he tires of it and it ends up back in his toy box, especially when he is torn to pieces by different factions?
