Hey DU!
Let's get moving on 2004! Instead of bickering about who will be the nominee and who is most electable, let's start registering voters in the Swing States. I am in MD, and we are not in too much danger of going red, but how about all you AZ, OH, WV, etc DU'ers? So let's start a group to register voters in our neighborhoods, universities, coffee shops, etc. We'll keep a running tally to see how many new democrats we can get! This way we will help to do our part in taking back our country!

1. Not Just Swing States

Even "sure Democratic" states aren't safe anymore.
They are all "in play", thanks to Diebold and ES&S.
We cannot take anything for granted.
We need landslides in all our "safe" states,
or the Rethugs will steal them.

The recent gubernator-ial disaster here in California demonstrates what
they are capable of doing to the electoral process these days,
even in a heavily Democratic state where the Rethuglicans had almost
*no* foothold in the state government. (What good is optical scan if
they won't allow a hand recount under any circumstances?)

If that weren't enough, the Rethuglicans own the news, even in the
most heavily Democratic areas, so that gives them unlimited off-the-books free advertising on almost every station.

We need to be finding and registering Democrats in *every* state.
