* "Greatest threat to life on this planet"
"President George Bush is the "greatest threat to life on this planet that we've most probably ever seen" - so says Ken Livingston, the Mayor of London"

I did a news search for this quote but couldn't find it. Anyone know where it came from? I recieved it as part of an email.

6. Who here doesn't agree with this statement?
A lot of us have been saying this for a couple years now. I'm glad a high profile person made news with this statement. Right now, I'm reading Krugman's 'The Great Unraveling' and find I am having to force myself to read it, violently churning stomach and all. The Bush administration is indeed a revolutionary power. Krugman takes statements from a Kissenger thesis and correlates them with what is happening now--chilling.

8. Ken Livingston
This is Goddess' mother. I emailed Mr. Livingston a while ago and he emailed me back. I again emailed him this week and he replied. One of the things he always does is thank me for my support. This time he also said, "I was against the war and I was right." What a class act.

Mr. Livingston's email address is mayer@london.gov.uk. He would appreciate emails of support.

10. Is that address right?
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 09:49 AM by latebloomer
It just got bounced back to me. Should it be "mayor" instead of "mayer"??

12. Use "mayor" instead of "mayer"...
mayor@london.gov.uk should work fine. Invite him to your next DU gathering (assuming Commander Codpiece hasn't declared him an "enemy combatant" before then)... http://www.london.gov.uk/gla/contact.jsp

14. Let us know if he replies to any e-mail
He is having a peace meeting while Bush is invading England.

It took about a week for his responses.

13. What else would you expect from a Clash fan?
''Joe Strummer was a man who wasn't afraid to voice his beliefs. A passionate, vocal, sincere olde punk. The Clash produced a contrast to the nihilism of the Sex Pistols, and educated an audience about the realities of the state. Music has lost one of its true rebels.''
~ Ken Livingston, London Mayor
