Did anyone else hear the Dr. Laura rant against O'Reily?
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 11:31 AM by MojoKrunch
Was in my truck and happened to hear the middle and end of the rant, but didn't get the beginning to put it in context.
Sounded like O'Reily made some jab at her about how she responded to a female caller.
She quoted an article, but I don't know who wrote it as she seemed to confuse O'Reily with "those Liberals"(like Bill O is a *LIBERAL* now?)

In her usual virulently stupid way, Dr. Laura then proceeded to, IMO, prove her critics absolutely correct.

Her ultimate response to the issue was how no one bothered to answer her, quite obviously rhetorical, "question".
"How *dare* that woman deprive her children of her father like that?"
(oooh... Dr. Laura pretends her judgmental statement is a question... too funny)
And after haranguing her detractors for "not answering the(obviously rhetorical) question" she proceed to respond with her "answer" which is a whiney voiced, "Because I want to!".

Oh right... this is why women choose to be single parents.
Because they are just *SO SELFISH* that rather than stay in a failing, emotionally dead relationship they choose to accept *co-parenting* as an option.

Given her ultra-conservative propensities on "family values", does anyone know how she felt about Israeli crèches?
She rails against "full time day care", but isn't that how some children are raised in Israel?

1. I love it when conservatives turn their venom on each other
Each is so opinionated, and so hazy on the facts, that it makes it easy for them to cross each others paths... and at a time like this when the GOP are facing internal dissent, and the hypocrisy of many of these "journalists" is being exposed, this could turn really vicious really quickly.

Let the feeding frenzy begin!!!

3. I'm not sure O'Reilly is a conservative.
He leans right, but I think he's just a loud-mouthed, thin-skinned bully. He is trying to style himself as a centrist, and whacking the unpopular nut job Dr. Laura, as well as the unpopular Dick Cheney, is a low risk way of appealing to more than the 20% of America that identifies with the right wing. And remember what they say about broken clocks...they're right twice a day.

5. You're not sure O'Reilly is a conservative!?!
I don't care how "center" he tries to position himself, his attacks have been far more concentrated on the lefties than on any conservative. If he is beginning to take on those on the right, I think it indicates a divide on the right more than any desire by O'Reilly to actually play the objective center position he likes to claim. And how does attacking Dick Cheney appeal to the right wing?

A broken clock may be right twice a day, but a slow clock is never right... and a broken record just keeps hammering the same point without ever moving forward.

6. I think O'Reilly, rather than being driven by ideology,
just acts 100% in his own self-interest.

Which pretty much makes him a conservative.

4. she makes me sick
I get so infuriated when I listen to her, which is why I usually don't. Her intolerance and hypocrisy ( her own family life is actually a shambles) are incredible. I can't understand why she has a show when there are so many tolerant folks/professionals out there who could dispense positive and helpful advice. And people line up to be castigated by her! Incredible.

7. Yes, memo to the right: eat your own!
I'll bring ketchup if you need it to cover up the rancid taste.
