Last night Jon Stewart made an astute observation |
|
He detailed all the security precautions taken for *'s visit to Great Britian, then remarked, "And these are our ALLIES????"
Couldn't have said it better.
How much security would he need if he were to visit a "hostile" country??

Why not? I mean, if I were Canadian, I wouldn't want him there either, but they're our 'friendly neighbors to the north.' Sheesh.

I wonder if they have "Free Speech Zones" in London, or if Bush will be forced to listen to the protesters close up. I plan to watch the BBC tonight, because I know our media won't show any demonstrations against the Boy King!
The snippets from the David Frost interview on TDSWJS were also pretty damn funny..

Just for Bush. The whole world is giving up their right to protest and free speech for this moron.

Bush is disliked by over 1/2 of Americans but you would never see us go to the amount of preparation to protest him as the Brits are doing and we would not be permitted to do so if we wanted to.

12. groups already getting busted |
|
Groups that are planning "stuff" for next September in NYC are already getting busted by NYPD folks. A minority/anarchist group was raided over the weekend because somebody saw someone "with an open container" on the street. Two dozen or more squad cars responded to this urgent crime and people were arrested for resisting arrest.
This is why I urge everyone to stay away from NYC next September and organize "counter convention" events all over the United States instead.
What could be more frustrating for Mayor Bloomberg than paying all that overtime for all those cops, and have nobody show up. Solid walls of blue, standing around eating donuts.
The mind boggles.
Instead of playing THEIR game in 2004, why not do our own thing?

14. Exactly.....this is why it bugs me when I hear the C.Alliance and their |
|
ilk say "Chretien has soured our relations with the U.S.A (Bush) and that it's up to Martin to now mend fences....The fact is Bush is on bad terms with most of the world's western leaders...Even Fox of Mexico (who got the "coveted" invite to the ranch) barely talks to him now....Does this mean that ALL THESE LEADERS are responsible for their bad relationship with America....I think NOT!!!....Pardon my rant....I've felt this for a while and now I got it off my chest!!

never will. They mouth the policies that their supporters, a whole whopping 13%, want. They can change their name, their leader, their underwear, they will never get the legislature.

20. Does Anyone Have An Estimate on Cost to American Taxpayers |
|
for this boondoggle? This is something I would bring up over and over again if I were a candidate. It's totally unnecessary. I heard that he has over 700 people traveling with him and is bring three planes, not to mention the enormous cost of security.
I'd like to know if anyone can tell me a ballpark figure on the cost of this trip?
