BBC London - Online Comments on Bush Visit

Some crackers, some nuts

'at best he is Dr Strangelove' - my particular favourite

Please tell Gerald Phillips of London that George Bush is NOT the elected president of the U.S. Further, our media is giving this visit almost zero coverage. If there are protests, we will probably have to watch them on Canadian television.

Got to be a DUer, right?

1. Can someone explain the connection here?
"My daughter's school has told us to prepare packed lunch for our children on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday due to George Bush's visit to London. I feel that this is absolutely ridiculous."

2. Perhaps they're considering locking the school down
if Bush's car happens to go by?

3. I read some of the BBC's Messages
and this is a portion of one that caught my interest and I had no choice but to respond.

Messageboard message:

"I'd never heard George interviewed at length and had been taken in, to some extent, by the leftist bile that says: stupid, parochial; lazy etc. That analysis couldn't be more wrong.

Apart from his intellectual acuity he showed a warmth, self deprecating sense of humour and wit; he was able to marshall a coherent and cogent case for our military forays into Afghanistan and Iraq.

I understand that he went to an ivy league university and got himself an MBA, clearly an intelligent man, how many of us can claim a similar accomplishment?"

My Response:

"Hey if you like Chimpy so much consider him a gift. Like when France gave us the Statue of Liberty we will give England the Statue of Stupidity."

4. Carl Rove got his DSL back up.
That is simply the ONLY explanation for that post.

5. I wonder exactly
what interview with Shrub this guy heard? Yeah, he got an MBA from an Ivy League University, but the dirty secret is that he got in on the strength of his family connection, and there was no way he was going to flunk out.

7. Lol. Here's what I just posted
More information for Mr. Phillips. To poll the intelligence level of "President" Bush, please do a websearch on the word 'bushisms'. Yes, our representative makes us proud on a daily basis.
Bush may not have lied to bring the US to war, but he definitely used half-truths and spin up the ying yang to get us there. The actual lying was done by the other members of the administration, who we tend to take more seriously anyway.

But, if you like "President" Bush so much, you are welcome to keep him.
