1. Amazing how a 30 buck weapon can bring down at helicopter |
|
Didn't Stalin say something to the effect that "Quantity has a Quality of it's own"(?) meaning lots of low tech weapons can overcome high quality ones.
100 Billion spent so far on Star War but we can't "shoot down" a RPG.

2. how many RPGs are American made? |
|
that's what I want to know. I've heard a couple times on the mass media news the terrorists used a "russian-made" weapon...but some of them have got to be ours, right?

actually RPG's are soviet fare. Both the rpg's and the "russian-made" missile which you refer to (which is called a Strela, which is heat-seaking, which is reportedly what shot down the Chinook a week or so ago) you are referring to are of USSR make (or clones thereof).
That's not to say they weren't in part financed by the americans, but they are not of American origin.

The US military doesnt use RPGs.
The only thing similar that we have would be the 40mm grenades, but they dont have much effect against tanks and other armored vehicles.
For those we would use the various anti-tank weapons.
