British protestors to topple giant statue of Bush
Does anyone know whether these events will be shown on American television?

<snip>
British anti-war protestors said they will topple a giant statue of US President George W Bush at London's Trafalgar Square Thursday during a march against his three-day visit.

"The idea is to highlight how fake the toppling of the Saddam Hussein's statue (in April) in Bagdad was", said Liz Hutchins, spokeswoman for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND).
...
Tomorrow an "alternative procession" will poke fun at the fact that Bush, worried by the prospect of massive street protests, will not receive a royal procession that normally accompanies state visits of this kind.

A magnificent horse-drawn carriage pulled by two horses and driven by staff in ceremonial costume will leave the London Eye or giant wheel at 1100 GMT (1630 IST), explained Stop the War spokeswoman Tansy Hoskins.

I can't be there (darn), but I sure would like to see this on the telly!

1. Actually, I bet you they will be
As whorish as our media is, that would make great television and a good little story. I bet you we see it.

4. Thanks for the cam
I'll be watching that a lot.
I think a great thing about the stature is it's made of papier mache, fitting for junior.:dunce:

6. Here's a picture from a Oct. protest in England...
it's linked to a site that will undoubtedly have photos of this week's protests once they're ready.

I love the "B.Liar" signs, and you'll notice the sign depicting Smirky as that guy from Germany...
you know, his last name begins with an "H"!
