Tweety to Feature the FEITH Memo Tonight 11-19
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 09:14 AM by UTUSN
IMUS promo-ed this, the supposed "smoking gun" linking Saddam to 9-11 written by Douglas FEITH, the one the Weekly Standard had on its cover with "Case Closed" across it, the one that Faux was hyping last weekend, the one that is dated 3 weeks ago and summarizes all the FAKE Neocon reasons for the illegal Iraq attack. The one that the DoD press release as shown on several DU threads in LBN and GD said was just a compilation of raw intelligence that has never, not since the old ATTA-in-Prague junk was first floated after 9-11, has been validated.

It is not known which Tweety personality will show up, whether he will hype it or debunk it. STEPANOPOULUS told IMUS it was the raw stuff and then IMUS let the topic die. It will be a test of Tweety's influence among his audience of--------FIFTY!, 45 of whom are us DU-ers, the other 5 being his guests------whether he will breathe life into this FEITH-based junk.

1. I think this is AWESOME, here is why ...
Remember, Bush said a few weeks ago that there was no link between 9/11 and Iraq. But now, suspiciously, we have this leaked memo from the PNAC people saying there is? What does this mean? OPEN WARFARE between the two camps in this administration, and it has even gotten so bad the DOD is now warring with itself.

I hope this gets a LOT of attention. Only breaking this out into the open will cause the fissure in the administration to be revealed ...

Interesting question to the President
"Mr. President, a few weeks ago you said there was no link between 9/11 and the war in Iraq. Now it has been reported by several conservative commentators that there is a DoD memo which says there is plenty of evidence that Osama and Saddam were connected and had a relationship going back to the early 1990's. The DoD has denied this and said there is no new evidence. Mr. President, were you wrong to state there is no link between 9/11 and Iraq? Or is your Vice-President and the person who wrote this memo, Douglas Feith, correct? Will this evidence be presented to the Amercian people? When?"

5. YES... but will a majority of people ever hear the whole case?
The media will never let that happen. The major part of the media will keep confusing info out there to bolster Bush at every opportunity.

.... right after Cheney MTP appearance. Maureen Dowd also referred to his "sheepish comments" in one of her columns

8. That's the problem with Tweety....
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 09:37 AM by dennis4868
he is not consistent. You never know which way he is going to go on an issue. It really all depends if his bosses at MSGOP tell him to follow the company line that Bush can do no wrong or if he just goes with what he truly believe is right.

10. Safliar's column in today's NYT
Today, William Safliar, apologist for all things fascist, cites the Feith memo as some sort of "proof" of the connections between Al Qaeda and the Saddam regime in Iraq, and claims that it justifies Lil George's illegal invasion of Iraq.

So the Feith memo is doing the job it was meant to do.

Pentagon Questions Reports on Osama-Saddam Ties
Some Outlets Run With 'Weekly Standard' Story

By Seth Porges

NEW YORK -- Updated at 11 a.m. ET, Nov. 19

Several newspapers and other media outlets had egg on their face Monday after reporting or endorsing a Weekly Standard story revealing new evidence of an "operational relationship" between Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden.

Several outlets, including the New York Post, The Washington Times and FOX News, ran with the story. There was just one problem: On Saturday, the Pentagon issued a press release stating that "news reports that the Defense Department recently confirmed new information with respect to contacts between al-Qaida and Iraq ... are inaccurate."

Despite this, the New York Post on Monday titled its editorial on the subject: "Bush Was Right."

16. My question is then
If people like us can research this stuff, then why is Tweety even waisting air time with this? He surely should know this is debunked.

20. Footnote: So Tweety Dropped FEITH Memo to Cover Jacko
So this means????? If the FEITH memo, despite being discredited already, really did have some truth to it, wouldn't Tweety feature it EVERY day for a week?

So he was willing to BUMP it off in favor of Jacko. Hmmmmmm.

However, when Enron broke in 11-02, then broke really HARD in January, Tweety STUDIOUSLY spent the next three months IGNORING the Enron story completely. He decided that the Middle East was suddenly very DIFFERENTLY important and did all ME shows for weeks, including his absurd ride in a chopper over ARAFAT's digs, a la Geraldo, wearing sunglasses. And it was clear that Tweety was afraid up in that chopper. To date, I don't know of any Enron stuff he's done.

Anyway, apparently Jacko is MUCH more important than FEITH. That's good to know.
