Bush's Overall Job Approval Ratings Remain Unchanged
Even as Assessments of the National Economy Improve

While a majorities of Americans now say the recession has ended and are more apt to give the national economy positive ratings, their assessments of their personal financial situations remain unchanged along with their ratings of the way George W. Bush is handling his job and the economy according to the latest survey by the American Research Group. Among all Americans, 50% say they approve of the way Bush is handling his job and 46% disapprove. When it comes to Bush's handling of the economy, 43% of Americans say they approve and 51% say they disapprove.

Among Americans registered to vote, 49% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 47% disapprove. As for Bush's handling of the economy, 45% of registered voters approve and 52% disapprove. The partisan split of Republicans approving and Democrats disapproving of the way Bush is handling his job remains, but majorities of Independents now disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job (56%) and the way Bush is handling the economy (67%).

1. He's going to take a big hit with this medicare bill.
One thing that Republicans never discuss openly is that many Republican seniors thought that their social programs were assured. So they didn't have any trouble helping the Republicans pick apart other people's social safety nets. Well, they were wrong. Now they're going to start coming out of the closet, and I expect Bush is going to take a hit from the blue zones.
