Why didn't someone wake me up for the Big News ?
It's all over every channel on the TV. Cops are shown at the scene. This is even bigger than the Laci Peterson story. Child molestation. The coincidence of it being on the same day as the new CD is to be released. A famous person accused of a sex crime? Why do they keep interrupting this huge story with bits about Bush in England, or the war in Iraq, or little tales about the candidates? Can't they just focus on the story that's most important to all of America? Michael Jackson.

1. I keep waiting for that owl to do something.
I know. Michael Jackson and the other stories are taking time from Chimpy Bonzo's visit to Britain.

5. i'd blame the freak media...
... for constantly putting him in the spotlight. Apparently the sideshow concept is still quite popular, hence, they'll shove his mug through the tv screen as long as the rubberneckers keep gawking.

at dusk. Meaning that you need to reach a certain level of darkness before wisdom takes over. Are we there yet?!

14. I'm not talking about owls in general.
I mean that owl in Kentuck's signature line sitting on that long line. All he does is sits there and blink.:-)

20. I don't want him (the owl) to go away. I just want him to do something.
Something like, get up and start doing the funky chicken or something like that. :D

6. And half the same people arguing that Kobe is innocent until
proven guilty are making some very interesting comments on the Jacko threads...I love irony.

8. The parents who allowed their child to be around this freak MUST be held
accountable.

I would hold accountable ANYONE who allows their child to be a with known child molestor...

What were these parents thinking? They should be charged with child endangerment and denied any civil action against jackson.

11. Oh yes. Settling out of court on the '93 case was a clear indication
of something seriously out of order.

He was just able to buy his way out. Most pervs can't.

12. Er, actually..the DA never pressed charges and could have
Michael's out of court settlement had no bearing on the criminal aspects of the case and the parents could just as easily be guilty of blackmail and/or extortion.

13. You don't pay 20 million in "extortion" money if you're innocent.
trust me on dat.

If someone is extorting or blackmailing you, they're guilty of a crime. If you're not guilty of what they're blackmailing you, you send them to jail.

I worked with MJ for a while. He's a mentally ill freak and perv and should never be around children, even his own.

18. "what this has to do with politics" - a conspiracy theory I'm working on..
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 01:27 PM by nu_duer
I don't accept that MJ is a child molestor until he's proven to be one, but that ties right in with how media repitition, imagery, and subliminal messages might be in use here...

This is just an impression I got from the mix of media I've been exposed to in the last three days, not something I believe a certainty - but a possiblity???

- bush needs a media diversion from his poodle petting disaster in the making

- ahno swarztika takes office in CA

- MA bans ban on gay marraige

- MJ releases a new album

- a warrant is issued for MJ's arrest for alleged homosexual (not mentioned but glaring) child mosestation

-----

A bush/robertson "christian" could get the subliminal message from the last three days of media that:

1) Brits mostly love bush and the trip is going great since all the media is talking about is MJ.

2) ahno is bringing religion to moral cesspool CA - he's in, gay child molesting abomination MJ is behind bars the next day (kinda like the hostages being released the same day reagan is inaugurated - sublminal imagery for the "bush is the second coming" set.

3)Simultaneously, MJ becomes the rr's ready-made poster boy for what the decadent gay lifestyle permits, hence a vivid representation of what the evil, ungodly liberal MASC has condoned in allowing gay marraige.

In the twisted "god talks to me" right wing mind, seeing prophecy in the change of a traffic light, could these events not serve to motivate and God forbid, (further) activate?

Again, I'm merely suggesting the possibility. I am admittedly prone to connecting dots that sometimes don't connect, but who can blame anyone for being suspicious in rovian amerika. Watch to see if rush/faux/700Club doesn't make the same connections.

19. I'm not saying he's guilty or innocent, but he may have paid the $20mil
because he genuinely cared about the kid and didn't want to see him put through a very public trial. I know the media is supposed to protect child victims of crime, but they were out there at Columbine, sticking microphones in the kids' faces as they were being evacuated. $20 million to Michael Jackson is not that much money, considering how much a criminal defense costs.

I'm not saying he didn't molest any kids-he's weird and so much about him fits the profile of a molester. I thought that the way the previous allegations came about was highly suspicious, because it was a non-custodial parent using the allegations (which the child "remembered" in therapy) to take the kid away from the mother, alleging she was a poor parent for letting the kid stay at Neverland. The father took the kid to a therapist, looking for an issue to take to court.

That said, I do wish that the crazy plastic one had never decided to be a father. Between him and Courtney Love, the California CPS workers are going to be busy.

21. Reading your posts, I can see why defense attorneys
work so hard during jury selection.

I think Jackson is a strange sort. Very strange. But then so are a lot of people. Especially rich people, who can afford to be strange.

But I see absolutely no basis for your other generalizations.

22. Someone who is innocent works their fingers to the bone to defend
their honor and integrity, and doesn't pay someone who's lied about them $20 million dollars to keep quiet.

Simple as that.

The basis for the 'generalizations' is that his actions speak for themselves.

and movies. Or film noir.

Or maybe I've been reading too much pulp fiction.

Innocent people settle all the time. Especially in the entertainment industry. Well, not all the time. But they do.

For reasons of their own.

My two cents.

23. the sight of Michael Jackson scares the bejesus out of my 7 year old
It's a big deal around our house if he shows up on the TV screen where she can see. She has nightmares.

I'm not kidding. To her, he's a monster.
