When will Lie-baugh be arrested?

Anybody hear anything about how this is proceeding? I read about the money laundering issue today so I assume that an investigation is still under way. There certainly seems to be enough evidence to at least bring charges, so why hasn't that happened yet?

1. He won't be arrested, prosecuted, or anything else. And I don't
know why I am replying to this thread. That scumbag is not worth all the attention we give him. Unless we create a protest campaign to combat unequal treatment of drug addicts. That would be a proactive, directed approach.

4. That's what's brewing in my mind.

He could be a wonderfull example of how the hipocritical "War on Drugs" works if exploited properly.

2. Let's see...
Rush will be arrested on Federal drug charges in Florida. Let's ponder this for a moment. The Attorney General is John Ashcroft. Florida's Governor is Jeb Bush. My money is on the maid (Wanda?) will get 25 to life... Rush will get an apology for his inconvenience.

9. Your mistaken
its not drug charges. Its money laundering, tax evasion. Big difference. The states attorneys office has been cranking up the heat on these types of crimes (as my former partner will tell you and the investigators in her crime told me) The financial crimes are easier to prove, and pay off better.

If they have proof of finacial mis doings, he's in trouble. The sentences are manditory.

10. Drugs, money, whatever...
There is no way that the Poster Boy for Conservatism is going to be going behind bars... Mandatory sentences are for working schmo's like you and me... not for well to do connected criminals like Rush.

17. Noel did not traffick and launder money.
Big difference. Opportunity for a failing administration to claim they are tough on crime. Opportunity for Jeb as a get tough governor.
The Repub party will love the opportunity to show their 'equal' justice for all shit. This sad freak, who has done great harm to My Country with his lying and pandering to the un-educated will lose everything.

14. You're wrong again
My former partner was a multi-millionaire, she had a team of high-priced suits, she had no prior record, and a handicapped child at home. They threw the book at her, and slammed the cell door. The cops told me they love this "slam-dunk" stuff. Its a no-brainer and the resulting publicity makes them look better for the working stiffs. One of the investigators said it had to do with the pension fund being raided during the Wall Street scandals, the gumshoes wanna crack down on white collar crime. The states attorney's office figured its less expensive to prosecute and investigate, and less dangerous too.
My feeling is thats why the guys down in West Palm Beach let the drug buys go on for so long, so they could get him on the financial crimes.

If they ahve the evidence, he will face mandatory sentences.

Even as the victim of the crime, I pleaded on behalf of the young child, no jail for his mother. The judge said there was nothing she could do.

15. For there to be mandatory sentenceing, there needs to be a trial
which is brought in front of a Judge (juries optional at defendants option). This legal action is the perogative of the District Attorney. He may or may not forward a defendant to court. There is no way that Rush will ever be tried for his crimes, therefore mandatory sentences are moot.

The Right wing will protect Rush at ALL costs... they can't afford to have one of their biggest icons and promoters deemed a criminal. Rush will NEVER see the inside of a jail cell.

13. Pulling money out of an account is not tax evasion
He pulled out a series of cash withdrawls just below the federally manadated reporting level, and the banks are supposed to notify the fed of suspicious account activity. It is not clear that they did this of their own volition.

It would be tax evasion if he pulled the money out in order to hide assets from a tax audit of the accounts, and had not accounted for it on his tax returns.

For example, Right Wing Press gives Limbo a 1 million payment. He deposits it in an account (which would be stupid if he wanted to avoid taxes), takes 100K out in cash, and declares he received 900K from Right Wing Press. That's evasion. If he declared he received 1 Million from Right Wing Press, he has done nothing illegal. Oh, except that he bought illegal narcotics with the 100K.

8. Finally!!! Somebody putting anger in the right place. Rioting is NOT
recommended, but we (the people that are really irked by the unequal treatment) should collect our money, HIRE A WELL KNOWN, LIBERAL LEANING LAWYER FIRM, and sue the government for unequal treatment.
