My scan today of Cables is that "Live After Five" is Wall to Wall Jacko! |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-19-03 06:21 PM by KoKo01
The LEAD stories on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC (well they were a little all over the place) was that the STORY was JACKO! ...NOT the CHIMP!
However, my noontime luch "check in" of the cables showed CNN, MSNBC, reveling in the Chimp's Downfall in London. There were jokes between Blitzer and John King (reporter at large in London) about the "imposter" who insinuated himself into the Royal Family whom the tabloid placed to show the failure of Security for Bush's Visit. That got lots of air time. They showed much footage of the London Protests (making this US Protestor against Bush really upset) but, whatever, they covered it all!
However, the "After Five" coverage Lead with Michael Jackson Wall to Wall overshadowing the Chimp, meaning if Chimp wasn't the lead....then When the Big Cat's Away the Mice Will Play!"
I think this should make us Dems feel good in one way that Chimp wasn't covered for the "After Five Alive Crowd" but also be wary that Jacko's coverage is bigger than Lacey and whatever stuff they push to the porno obsessed American Public.
What wasn't covered was the "Mutual Fund Crooks," the Limbaugh Story (except on Crossfire where Begala did us proud), and very little, but at least some coverage for the "Lunch Time Crowd" of the big "Anti-Global Demos" in Miami which looks HUGE from the limited photos which C-Span has shown while promoing but not doing a true "segment" on.
So.....much is going on in the World but JACKO REIGNS!
Just my report. What did YOU SEE TODAY....OR HEAR on RADIO?
On Edit: I might not have been clear in my post...Before 5:00 p.m. the Cables had wall to wall Chimp coverage (mostly negative) and they changed after 5:00p.m., est. to JACKO Wall to Wall all the time.
It was quite odd to observe the change in coverage. Meant to me that "Something is Up," with the media1 Definitely Negative to Bush this coverage, and I've been watching a long time how the media works.

2. Its OK to cover protester's now..... |
|
All the media whores made what they could off of Iraq and its time to move on. They couldn't make to much of all the protests before the invasion because they wanted it just as much as Chimpboy.
They could give a shit about the dead over there, its all about the millions to be raked in....

6. That's what bothered me the most. British protesters got Mega Coverage, |
|
but we "ordinary" citizens got almost nothing. Tucker Carlson on "Crossfire" called the British Protestors STALINISTS! That's the line that some DU'ers and the American Press have used against us recently trying to paint us as some Left Wing..FREE MUMIA people. When, in fact, the protests I've been to have had ordinary North Carolinians, including the Granny's Against the War...who are genteel Southern Ladies and NOT STALINISTS! It's awful to see every Anti-Iraq Invasion Protestor Tarred with some broad brush as STALINISTS...Geeze most of America doesn't even know who Stalin was....but those of us protesting do....Dumbing Down of America!

5. CNN (website) says that the police 'could have moved' |
|
on the MJ arrest 'weeks ago', but waited 'because of operational reasons'.

7. The timing is strange, and I think, not being too "tinfoilhat" that |
|
it's up to the "Media" to figure out how "strange" it is. Ha! waiting for that "cold day in hell," but Blitzer did keep harping on the "Timing" of the story...so I will take that as a "crumb" of some sense that this is very odd.
