Ashcroft was a racist for opposing the Ronnie White nomination.
However, Schumer is legitimately opposing Janice Brown ... hmmm
Ah, shit I need to stop thinking and just do what the DNC tells me.

If you had more than half a brain (the other half tied behind your back, maybe?) you would figure out what to think for yourself and realize that it's apples and oranges comparing the two situations. Sure, it's easy to contrast when you oversimplify to cartoonish levels.

Janice Brown is a WOMAN and should just go back into the kitchen and make you a shrimp dinner?
Right?

4. isn't it that she's superconservative, antiabortion (for any reason)? |

Thomas got on the supreme court because the republicans counted on no democrat being willing to vote against a minority, no matter how truly undemocratic the nominee's views were.
There's a proganda reason for republicans (the party of white male supremacy) trying to look all inclusive with black, hispanic, women nominees.
LOOK at their antidemocratic records, not their race, ethnicity, or gender.

Ashcroft is a racist because of many other reasons, it was just very evident publicly in his opposition to Ronnie White. He has shown it often on many issues.
On the other hand, Schumer has show his tolerance and compassion on many occasions, including his opposition of the extremely conservative Janice Brown who would do no favors for the poor and downtrodden.
You see, that's the difference there. Schumer is color blind when looking at nominees and A$$croft isn't. I am not so sure that it is not a class war as much or more than a race war that you guys on the right are waging, but you certainly support the people who back the rich and elite in the country rather than trying to raise the general living standards and education of all, which would make for a much stronger nation in the long run.
You may call yourself a seasoned observer but you fail to see that it is the repugs that fall lockstep into the party line, not the dems, and whatever seasoning you are using your brain is definitely overcooked.
