I just figured out why the repugs are so scared of dems now. |
|
There is one thing that repugs do that just angers me more than anything else they do.
I'm talking about how, no matter who is doing it, they have nothing but anger and antagonism to anything done or said by liberals. But everything that the bushco trolls have done has had the effect of making life more difficult for the average american.
When you get right down to it, most americans when asked the right questions support liberal policies. Sure they claim to be conservatives cause they hate to be taxed, but their life goals are basically liberal.
I believe that in addition to that, most people are becoming just fed up with the retoric of the repugs. There is a desire for fairness in most americans, and that desire is quashed by the language that the republicans have used for the last decade. I believe that this time it will not work for them. Just as many of the independants hate bush, they don't like the negative campaigns that repugs run.
This may be the unrecognized problem that the repugs will face, and it may well hurt them, not just in the election, but for years to come.
I hope.

|
that fear will escalate. Corps are screwing us and he is calling for these bastages to stop it. My job went to China and so have thousands of others. We need regulation and Dean promised it. I was big on Clark but Dean definetely won this round IMO

3. You hit the nail on the head |

The fairness issue is what makes the other side so defensive. They know what we know: to win, their side cheats, smears, lies, and games the system. I really think it would be a positive step for Dem candidates to talk about fairness in all kinds of areas. What's fair about hiding information from the people? What's fair about letting lobbyists and special interests write legislation? What's fair about keeping Democrats off of conference committees? What's fair about calling the D.C. cops on Congressional colleagues? What's fair about making it difficult for people to register and vote? What's fair about laws preventing gays from doing what married Americans can do (e.g., adopt , leave their wealth to partners, have hospital visits and end-of-life decisions made by partners, etc.)? What's fair about holidays in "The People's House" being celebrated by an invitation-only crowd -- even BEFORE 9/11? And so on.
I think appealing to the common belief in fair play is a winner.
