This is sick...I have a feeling his parents are behind this, not him.

I'm a 26 year old and I'm 5'5/5'6

4. Don't agree with this
It's definitely the parent's decision and this boy is not SICK - they just want him to be taller. Human Growth Hormone has side effects and when you weigh the pros and cons, not worth 2 or 3 inches. Besides - there's no long term data.

7. Yup
Parental Pressure, easy to see.

When I was a sophmore in HS I went to a speicialist about growth (I was only 5'1 or so), but that's where it ended. I just went with nature.

29. It is sick, all you ;have to do is look and listen to the parents
to understand they want a "perfect" family with "perfect" children.

They are teaching that kid to fix any "problems" he has with needles and drugs.

Very sick.

12. Speaking of CLARK, (or is this a growth hormone thread?)
I think he was absolutely awesome! I was calling and faxing the White House on practically an hourly basis to get them to do something about the genocide in Bosnia. I totally relate to where he's coming from!

17. When my husband and I were in Munich
we toured a museum which showed pictures of the genocide in Bosnia. In addition, we have very close friends that are immigrants from Bosnia (they just became US citizens last year). I don't understand how some people can argue that our intervention in that conflict was wrong.

20. I don't get it either. Ending that horror should have been a NATO
mission, and eventually was. But they needed the U.S. to take the first steps, which, thank goodness, we eventually did. Clinton was under political attack so I understand why he waited so long. However, I totally comprehend Clark's frustration with seeing such atrocities going on and not having the backing of the Pentagon to stop it.

31. Thanks for saying that
Because alot of us Clark supporters have been left with the impression that half or more of DU thinks Clark was the one run amok, committing genocide and having babies for breakfast.

I am proud of what he did there, and he is the kind of duly ELECTED President that I want.

Very little of Rather's interview with Clark made it through the 60 Minutes II editing process. Here are links to complete transcipts of the whole interview.

There were tears in his eyes! That's incredible. None of the other candidates have shown this level of honesty and sincerity, with tears in their eyes before a national audience. If this isn't empathy, I don't know what is.

33. Did anyone else think it was yet another media whore attack?
Rather put him on the defensive on every issue
except for calisthentics. Then he wound up with
this (from the transcripts):

"But somewhere along the line, Wesley Clark developed a
reputation among some others -- Schwarzkopf, Shelton,
Tommy Franks -- just something about Wesley
Clark that tees me off. Has that been your experience?"

Um, how the hell is someone supposed to defend themself
against a bullshit remark like "something about tees me off"?
Would a decent journalist even ask that? What the hell?

Clark rightly dismissed it as gossip; what else can someone say?

36. It was a POWERFUL moment!
You could tell, he was totally frustrated with the fact that we'll invade other countries for oil, but we won't intervene to prevent genocide and the murder of innocent civilians.

When Rather pointed to the picture of that 5 week old baby that had died from exposure... oh my God, you could just feel the sorrow and the grief that Wesley Clark felt. I got a little watery-eyed myself.

that does not understand the Kosovo war of have an ounce of humanity denounced his actions.

He's a father and a husband and a soldier who has seen the hell of war and the injustice of tyranny.

W. should be ashamed of himself for being in the same contest.

37. he did great
especially for someone who is not a political guy. That's what I like about him--humility. People seem to forget that he has never run for political office YET he comes into this election with much more to offer "politically" than bush in 2000. Hell, bush couldn't even name the president in Pakistan. And another thing--as far as Franks, Shelton, and Swartzkoff having a poor opinion of Clark then I say BE GLAD. To be admired by the likes of those warmongers is not a compliment. Why doesn't someone call these guys out for the creeps that they are. Tommy Franks makes my skin crawl.
