3. Just aboutthe time I retired I started looking for the Gray Panthers
organization but Maggie Kuhn was dead by then and the organization had more or less associated itself with AARP. I joined AARP and, at the time, went to some of their chatrooms. The chats were full of old white male bullshit and I've long been sick of that! I dropped out and have had nothing to do with that outfit until I called them today and told them they were absolutely wrong in supporting the Medicare fiasco and that even though I'd not been tempted to rejoin AARP this endorsment meant I would never even think of them again.

The bright side is that rhe Gray Panthers now exist, I found them today and, best of all, they seem to have Maggie Kuhns old fighting spirit about them again. I am going to join them!

4. Gray Panthers!
Thanks, annak, and I like your fighting spirit, too!

Glad to know of the alternatives. This whole situation really stinks!

I'm soooo tired of not being able to trust anymore.... I'd really like to belong to an organization where I feel like I can trust what is being said, and trust the people involved.

Trust. May it rise again.

Kanary

5. The GOP has stolen AARP
What a win for them! If we all abandon AARP, they win because they have busted the largest senior lobby. If we are passive, they win, because they have neutralized AARP. If we start a new lobby, they win, because it will take years and years to be effective.

We must fight AARP from within and take it back!!
