Wow...Fred Phelps has reached a new level of confusion to me...
He announces that all gays should be executed, but then says that the murderers of Matt Shepard are going to Hell for violating the 5th Commandment? Huh?

1. Wha wha what????
The thing that surprises me most, is Phelps thinking Matt Shepard's killers are going to hell. I thought in his little brain he would think they would be welcomed into the gates of heaven for killing gays.

Phelps has never confused me before. His hate is usually better understood.

2. No confusion at all...
If you read Addicted to Hate, the Topeka newspaper's suppressed story on the Branch Fredphelpsians, one of Fred's teachings is that the only people going to heaven are members of "the true church" -- which, apparently, includes his own congregation and one headed up by a friend of his elsewhere in Kansas. All other "Christians" actually belong to counterfeit churches and are already predestined for damnation, so it should be no surprise that those others are also led into sinful lives.

3. I believe he considers Matt S. to have been murdered, but....
...Rev. Fred would only burn them at the stake after they had been duly convicted, or perhaps tortured into "confessing" their sin of homosexuality.......holy shit. i do think that's his point of view. But it makes me feel a little ill to write it.

4. Fred Phelps is post, post-modern performance artist
with Liberal ideals.

I am totally convinced.

He is serving the same purpose as the KKK clowns whom bombed the churches in Burmingham did, but without the violence.

People see him and realize that only bigots hate gays. Normal people do not want to be bigots.

6. Nope.
I think Phelps thinks that those who kill homosexuals without the power of the state behind them do it out of an inner rage that comes from the fact that they are secretly homosexual themselves.
You see, people who get so virulently homophobic(hmmm..like Phelps himself), and then act out that rage by attacking or killing homosexuals, are just secretly gay and will burn with the gays that actually commit this "sin".

Of course Phelps, who only encourages their rage, but doesn't actually commit murder on homosexuals, believes himself proven to be "just doing God's work", and is destined for salvation.:puke:
