1. Missed Him But a Caller Said, "It Might Not Be Perfect, But..."
Next caller said she can't afford the proposed bill, that she's never voted straight-Dem before, but doesn't like what's going on with the rich getting richer, that the more she hears from Repukes the more she's gonna vote Dem-------well, alrighty then!

2. Barbara KENNELLY Is Kicking His Butt
She is CEO of the National Committe to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. She said she has never seen anything like the pharmaceutical lobby, that when Congress was in recess the lobbyists did not take a vacation. KENNELLY was in Congress for 17 years.

The AARP dude just said AARP is non-partisan and issue-driven. Yeah, those commercials really don't lubricate with dollars the partisan bill.

(Didn't miss it after all. Thanks for the timely alert.)

Statement by Barbara B. KENNELLY
"While we await the specifics of the Medicare conference agreement, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare is deeply troubled that the proposal continues to include the seeds of Medicare privatization.

"Beginning in 2010, the agreement would expose millions of seniors to new cost and benefit uncertainties in as many as six major metropolitan areas. Since February 2003, the National Committee has collected nearly 750,000 petitions opposed to Medicare privatization. We also remain opposed to spending triggers, means-tested premiums and inadequate protections for low-income seniors contained in this agreement.

"The members and supporters of the National Committee expect Congress to enact prescription drug legislation that is available to all, affordable and provided through the Medicare program. This legislation is supposed to be about providing seniors affordable drug coverage. Unfortunately, this conference agreement not only provides insufficient prescription assistance, but it also lays the groundwork for the demise of the Medicare program."

6. 2 years ago I had to go to Washington for a conference. An
elderly couple who sat next to me on the flight back had been to a conference on affordable health care. One of the speakers was Hillary. She said that there were over 600 lobbyists for the pharmaceutical companies. More lobbyists than members of congress and we wonder why our government has become so corrupt.

Rother say they had taken a poll and the majority of seniors supported this. I don't believe it.

5. Benefits Counselor Caller Just Pinned Him on the Poll
She's an AARP member and just lambasted him on this bill hurting the middle class. He skipped answering all of the caller's questions, including the poll question, except the last.
