Help!
I think I've gone mad. I do not understand why the rest of America, outside of the people on this board, do not see Bush* as I do? There must be some explaination for it. After all he has done, Enron, the enviroment, lies about Iraq, the tax cuts, etc., he is still viewed with respect by so many of our citizens, and treated with kid gloves by the media. The only explaination is that I'm wrong and it's a terrible misunderstanding on my part, or I'm insane.

Would any one wish to speculate?

1. If you're insane

you're not in the minority. This might cheer you up. In the latest poll, only 42% of the nation thinks Bush deserves re-election. Only 38% say they are more likely to vote for Bush over a democratic candidate (42%).

3. Insane
Thanks. That helps some. Why his reelect # is this high is amazing to me.

2. The rest of America is not as liberal as most DUers
If they were, Gore would have won by a landslide.

4. When you ask America to see Bush, you are asking it to see itself
He is an embodiement of the sum of the worst and the best that is America. To see him honestly and clearly for what he is, means that you must be willing to see yourself and your nation -- and everything that it does in the world. Most Americans are still not ready for that look in the mirror. But the day is coming. Within a year, I would suppose.

5. Read Orwell's 1984 and you will understand
It is not really fiction, only disguised as fiction to avoid censorship

6. I felt the same way during the eight long years of Reagan.
I could not understand why no one else seemed to "get it". I don't have an answer for you. Hang in there, these things go in cycles. Our time will come.

7. No one pays attention to the news. It takes forever to sink in.
Maybe we're just way ahead of the curve.
