Survey: Planned Holiday Spending down 6% for 2003
Planned holiday spending for this Christmas season will average $976 down 6% from last years average of $1,037. Not exactly a sign a a healthy economy since it will be the lowest planned spending since 2000.

However, holiday spending on the internet will be up 37% another example of how the internet is expanding not only politically but elsewhere...

1. I really don't know ANYONE
who spends what they say the 'average' spending is for holidays.

Even people with LOTS of kids, and LOTS of inlaws don't spend NEAR what the estimates for holiday spending are.

In fact, for the last 3 years or so, most people I know don't spend over $300 for everyone

The year I can spend $976 (or $1037) for Xmas gifts is the year that I decide to go on a hawiian cruise for Xmas and say "scroo the gifts"
