Re: Medicare Bill. I went to a condo meeting tonight, with 60 "seniors"-
FYI, just for the hell of it I asked "how many agree with AARP on this support of the republican medicare bill? " result: at least 50 said no. I know that our condo has lots of republicans. Plus I roamed around the aarp.org "Legislative & Elections" discussion board and most of the talk is against the republican bill.

1. I think a lot of people were shocked by the AARP's endorsement
My guess is that they think it may be the best "first step" they will be able to get from this congress, and that it could be built upon later.

3. Thanks for posting this, AlinPa. So great to know seniors are not fooled!
Shame on the AARP for endorsing thie egregious giveaway to the pharmaceutical and managed care companies.

AARP is NOT a disinterested party. They sell prescription drugs (at exorbitant prices, I might add) and supplemental health insurance. These ought to be conflicts of interests when it comes to representing Seniors regarding Medicare!

4. It's time for seniors to execute a mass exodus from AARP and reorganize.
