Poll question: REVOLUTION REDUX (poll)
Now that we've all had some time to think...

Do you believe a second American Revolution will happen? If yes, when? If no, why not?

(I am not advocating violent overthrow, by the way. I am merely asking if people think this will happen, regardless of our personal stance on such an issue. My opinions are, of course, strictly my own and represent no one else.)

5. Read a little more history, sweettater. . .
the first American Revolution was supported by about a third of the populous. Another third actively supported the British, while the rest were indifferent. At best, George Washington could count on the active support of less than 20 percent of the nation. The lesson to be learned, from America's past as well as multiple other examples, is that revolution is not a democratic proposition; it won't be televised because it won't command a majority share.

2. We're not there, yet.
The country hasn't gotten to that point where it's in between a rock and a hard place. We still have "room to move," culturally, in adjusting to the things we're dealing with.

I know that doesn't make any sense. Whatev.

7. Would the suspension of the Constitution, or elections, be that scenario?
NT!

3. Maybe not a revolution
But a least a series of violent uprisings. It's similar to tectonics. Human flexibility, fear and obedience has limits. Each major progress has always been ripped from the hands of the rulers, never ever given by them.

4. The Second American Revolution already happened
That was the Civil War and Reconstruction.

As for a Third American Revolution: Yeah, it's coming ... whether people like it or not.

8. Who "starts" something like that will be a subjective opinion.
Ever seen a little kid start a fight with a bully? He/she got pushed until the only option left, in his/her mind, was to stike out and try to end the threat.

10. Oh I agree that whatever the future brings in regard to conflict...
...will be ugly and difficult.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, the US is primed to transition to a full on Police State. From small towns with SWAT teams and helicopters, to State Intelligence Agencies, it's all there to be manipulated with the "Law".

The question is how long will your average cop get played the fool?

11. If history is any judge, a good long time.
many won't even have to be played. They just can't wait to be freed up from the regulations and fear of prosecution that keeps them from "putting those liberals and commies in their place"

Think how long it took the Russians to come around to rejecting tyranny. Think how long it took the Romans...oh that's right the NEVER rejected it until the barabrians smashed them and made it irrelevant.
