NC for Kerry?
Are there any NC residents who support Kerry here?

Is there an organized group of Kerry supporters in NC?

1. Anyone?
No one knows? Too busy digging up BS about other candidates to know whether or not Kerry has a group of supporters in NC?

18. Really?
BEcause I went to http://www.johnkerry.com/contact/ and didn't see a listing for an NC office.

2. With Clark in the Race...
Kerry's chances in the Carolinas have withered. Big military population now has a southerner to support.

3. Well
As far as I know, Kerry won't even be on the ballot here. Especially if he has no supporters to do petition drives.

Hell, I wonder if he even knows about it. We didn't have Nader in 2000 or McGovern in 1972. You'd think that being on the ballot would be important, but then Kerry's the guy who's gonna win without the south.

McGovern was on my ballot.

24. Why are you spreading that Newsmax lie about Kerry?
Dean used it so it's OK for you to spread that lie further?

26. This is not his quote?
Al Gore proved that you can get elected president of the United States without winning one Southern state -- if he had simply won New Hampshire

I think he'd make a great candidate. But he hasn't won them over yet.

7. I'm not asking where he ranks
I'm asking if there is ANY kerry support, organized, in NC. Doesn't matter where Kerry lines up. When people go to the polls and don't see Kerry's name on the ballot, it doesn't matter who they said they'd vote for over the phone to the pollster.

14. Nice attitude
I'm just curious. I'd hate to see kerry screw up like Nader did in 2000. I have a major problem with ballot access laws in NC and want Kerry to lose fair and suare in my state.

Wish I could say the same for Edwards supporters in my area who refuse to sign our Dean petition. Cowards. The only way they can win is if they keep Dean off the ballot, and that's what they'll try to do. But if there isn't already a concerted effort among Kerry supporters, he's in trouble in NC. He already missed his best chance to collect signatures- At the polls on election day.

But yeah, what's it to me, right?

16. Honestly, I think all candidates
should be on the NC primary ballot. No reason for them not to be. Vote for whomever you want. At this point I'm willing to work for everyone to be on the ballot.

17. How dare you call Edwards supporters cowards?
Who died and made it mandatory to sign a petition to get Howie on the ballot in NC? Guess he doesn't have enough of his own support.

Edwards will kick the crap out of Dean in NC.

19. Dean has plenty of support in NC
We're moving right along. But it's a republican tactic to keep people off ballots and to keep people from voting. It's cowardly because you know the only reason Edwards has any support at all in NC is because he's from here. That's all he has going for him.

Just come out and say you don't want a fair fight. Then it would at least be SLIGHTLY less cowardly. That is, it would be brave to at least admit being a coward.

20. LOL
Hep seems to think that not signing a petition is unfair and cowardly. It seems that without the help of Edwards supporters, Dean could not get on the ballot, which is why he calls their failure to sign Dean's petition "a republican tactic to keep people off ballots and to keep people from voting"

IOW, if you don't support Dean, you're a coward and a Republican

28. Okay, fine
You make a good point. I'll restrict my signature on a ballot access petition to one for Dean, Special K, Kerry, Clark, and Moseley Braun.

10. Be honest
In your initial post you asked "Are there any NC residents who support Kerry here?"

sandnsea answered that question. You're just PO'd that the answer didn't corroborate your obvious bias and hatred of all things Kerry.

25. He's Third Alright
34 points behind Edwards and 16 points behind Dean.

In fairness though, people aren't paying attention here yet. When it comes to campaign coverage, it's almost exclusively of NC's favorite son. Frankly, I'll be surprised if Edwards wins NC (considering how late our primary is, I'm not sure he'll even still be in the race). And I'd be surprised if Clark garners only the 6% he's currently polling at.

29. Why are we arguing about
who's allowed/not allowed in the primary ballot?!? This bickering serves the interests of no one and helps the GOP.

We should be getting every candidate on the NC ballot. Why? Because it brings out the voters. It provides a bit of drama.. who will it be? If people think there are only going to be one or two candidates to choose and implanted in their minds that one of those two is already a foregone conclusion, then voters won't come out in big numbers because they think their vote won't matter.

Let's not disappoint NC with a narrow Dem primary choice.

Bottom line: We dems win when we turn out the voters.

If I could find any Kerry supporters around me, I'd ask them about the petition effort.
