1. This country was an imminent threat to the US?
Tom Friedman said we fought the Flintstones and now Bedrock is being trashed. I hate Tom Friedman but like the comparison.

6. You are obviusly un-Amerikun, and probably French!
Those donkeys posed a clear and imminent threat to the safety and integrity of the United States. I ask you: if we had not invaded Iraq, who would there be to protect us from the proliferating scourge of donkeys across the free world? Furthermore, this latest equine-related act of terrorism certainly suggests a link between Al Qaeda and PETA, doesn't it?

Never again will three peasants, a donkey-cart, and homemade rockets threaten our cities or our freedom!

7. Make that almost $600 billion
You have to count the extra money he got for Iraq as defense spending. Which is what it is. All the money goes into the same warmaking machine. Why doesn't anyone get this?

The bill for this year comes to $566.5 billion. Approximately 56% of discretionary spending.

12. So the Iraqis did have a missile delivery system
Proof positive that Saddam not only had wet dreams about WMD's but he had also developed the means to launch missiles at American interests.

why we will lose, there it is. In a donkey cart. And it's not the explosives.

I think it was Teryang, one of the best posts I've ever read here on the DU.

He explained that we can never win this war, because "when they kill 1 american, we kill 50 Iraqis. They spend 10 cents, and we spend millions." This war is bleeding us financially. We simply cannot keep it up indefinitely.

But try telling that to the war planners.

Donkey carts, indeed. It reminds me of the time we went after Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Bin Laden retreated to a cave. The US was puzzled about where to strike. "There is nothing to blow up, it's already a pile of rubble". So they just dropped bombs wherever. This is warfare outside the box.

19. "Necessity is the mother of invention"
Low tech can beat high tech...Viet Nam should have taught us that.. and Afghanistan showed the Russians..

We never learn..
