On C-Span 1, they are taking calls from Republicans and Demcrats about the Medicare bill.

Most of the callers on both lines said that they feel the AARP sold them out with a bill which will benefit big business but not them
(at least while I was watching).

Public Citizen says that AARP will itself make tens of millions from passage of the bill:

1. I can't believe the calls.
Normally when I listen to CSPAN, I leave the room when a Republican caller comes on. I've only heard one supportive call tonight. These people are really mad. The Republicans are going to run on this?

4. AARP's Exec, Novelli created Harry and Louise ads
Of course he supports a bill that benefits big business, not people.

Here's the link to their Website, bragging about it.

5. apologize in advance for retread, but.......
did anybody see Bernie Sanders flay Santorum yesterday in Senate hearings? in his opening statement he pretty much called RS a waterboy for the insurance/drug companies, reiterating over and over how they were the most profitable sector in the entire business world, and have bought and sold members of congress over and over.

didn't see the whole thing, but I wonder if he had the nerve to list the contributions given by drug companies to various R and D members of congress.

he did mention that one CEO was paid $150 MILLION, though.

Santorum, in response, looked like a little kid, having just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, having complained that the unfair Canadians haven't had their drug prices go up in EIGHT WHOLE YEARS!!!

Sanders just ripped him up for saying that. too funny
