What happened to Arianna Huffington? |
|
I keep checking and no new columns for many months: http://www.ariannaonline.com/columns/I figured she'd take a little time off after the CA race, but it's been a LONG time.

1. Working on her book to cash in I expect. |

It will probably be a best seller too, her fans totally overlooking how much she contributed to Arnold's election.
Her shrill grandstanding drowned out any possibility the serious candidates had to break down Arnold's nebulous policy plans. Hogging the spotlight as she did, it became a two-person race as far as news coverage was concerned, him and her. How could he lose.
I don't know that Bustamante could have won even if Arianna hadn't been working diligently to make a joke out of it. But she certainly did her share to make minimize his opportunities to gain traction. That should be worth a book.

I don't know everything about Huffington or the election, but I thought she deserved credit for making a splash. How else does one get elected?
And how could she stop Bustamente from "breaking down Arnold's nebulous policy plans"? Are you saying Bustamente was another Al Gore? Seriously, Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign was as empty as George Bush's, and any candidate who couldn't blast that simple truth into the public's consciousness has some problems.
Of course, I also credit California with harboring some incredibly stupid voters that even the most intelligent candidate couldn't have reasoned with.
On another note, didn't Huffington drop out and urge her supporters to vote for Bustamente?
